The Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are Sony's fall flagships for 2017. Launched at IFA 2017 in Berlin, the phones share much of their spec sheets with the previously-announced Xperia XZ Premium, which debuted earlier in the year but forego shiny glass for more durable metal and glass-fiber bodies.
Those bodies are also significantly smaller, with screens at 5.2 inches and 4.6 inches respectively, but both maintain the 19MP Motion Eye camera of the Premium — and that includes support for 960fps slo-mo video.
Unfortunately, neither phone has a fingerprint sensor in the U.S., but it is enabled in other markets.
The Xperia XZ1 is going on sale in the U.S. on September 19 for $699.99 while the XZ1 Compact goes on sale on October 4 for $599.95.
