The Pebble Time Steel can now be reserved for $249

Pebble fans waiting to get their hands on the Pebble Time Steel can now reserve the smartwatch from Pebble's website. Those looking to reserve a Steel will need to pay $249, and orders are expected to start shipping by late September.

When ordered through the company's website, the Pebble Time Steel comes in Gunmetal Black, Brushed Silver, and Gold finishes, each with an Italian leather band. Matching black, silver, and gold steel bands will be available from Pebble later this year for $49.99 each. Versions of the Steel that come with metal bands are not yet available for pre-order, listed as "coming soon" for $299.

The Pebble Time Steel should be shipping out to backers now.

  • Really enjoy my original pebble, but all the time's need to come down in price at least 25% to be considered. Posted via a LG G4
  • Sgree. Pebble time doesn't have a lot more comparing to the OG. I love my OG and other than the color and the future smart straps I don't think I missing anything else Posted via the Android Central App
  • I'd pick one up for $150 or so maybe.
  • Yae even I would get one for 150$; 249$ is more for no touch & android wear Posted via the Android Central App
  • I have bought two smart watches, the original Pebble and the Moto 360. Honestly, unless smart watches come down in price or start to be able to do a lot more than being glorified notification centers for the phone i have in my pocket, I'll pass on another one. This watch is too steep in price. Maybe if it was below $200 I might reconsider. I have honestly stopped wearing my smart watches and gone back to my Hamilton and Omega Swiss watches. I think smart watches are still too gimmicky and pricey for what they offer at the moment. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I thought it was an Apple watch Posted via the ONE M9
  • Valid comparison. Another reason to avoid this watch! I love people asking me about my Moto 360. Posted via the Android Central App
  • It doesn't look hardly anything like an Apple watch in real life. As if that's a valid reason not to own one anyway. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I want nothing to do with anything that looks like apple(except maybe a macbook) so it's a valid reason to me(and other people like me).
Same reason I used avoid MIUI ROMs. They looked exactly like iOS but a simple launcher changes that.
  • Will wait on Woot firesale.
  • Well...$250 seems alot with or without a touch screen but 5 to 7 days on a single charge is nice...especially if you travel.

  • I still love my OG Steel and wear it every day. And while I'd love a Time Steel, $250 is no bueno. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Sinfully ugly
  • $50.00 hopefully next year, then i might get one Posted via Android Central App
  • I feel like the time should be $150 and the time steel should be $200. $25 for the metal band
That's what I'd pay for it anyway.
  • Think yourselves lucky. Here in the UK Pebble is retailing the leather strap version ($249 in the US) for the equivalent of $384! On top of that they want $31 for next day delivery. I would LOVE to be able to buy one for $249!
  • I'll hold out for the release of the samsung gear round . Are pick up a used gear S Posted via the Android Central App
