Motorola Droid XYBOARD 8.2 poised to get ICS update

It's been about a month since we saw Motorola rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Wifi only version of the XYBOARD, and now we see that Verizon has posted the changes and instructions for the LTE version's update.

In addition to the changes and security enhancements that come with ICS, Verizon lists the following benefits of the update:

  • Includes the latest Motorola USB driver to allow Xyboard to connect to a computer to transfer files.
  • Securely refresh your Corporate Email account with the native email client.
  • Faster Browsing Experience
  • Improved network connectivity

With the device page now up for the world to see at Verizon's website, we expect the update itself to begin rolling out shortly. Keep an eye out for it, and holler loud in the comments and forums when you see it.

  • Motorola ICS is pretty amazing
  • It is vaporware.
  • Jerry, your information is incorrect. Unfortunate and frustrating. Motorola announced, but NEVER RELEASED the ICS software for the XYBoard 8.2. They only changed the XYB 8.2 support website to remove reference to the 8.2 update because I had to elevate the issue to moto corporate customer satisfaction. There is NO ICS released for the XYBoard 8.2 wifi. All the more frustrating because that device is not tied to a phone company. And because Moto left the wrong/misleading/fraudulent information on the website until the issue was elevated to corporate. Meanwhile, the XOOM wifi gets JB. XYBoard 10.1 gets ICS. Verizon Android XYBoard getting ICS. And the XYBoard 8.2 wifi (MZ607) is not even showing on the updated schedule. Motorola support is garbage.
