Moto X 2013 Developer Edition promotion takes price down to $230

If you want an Android phone and don't want to break your budget, a deal has popped up on eBay for the unlocked Developer Edition of last year's Moto X. The 2013 Moto X with a woven white rear shell could be had now for just $229.99 on eBay, a 54 percent discount from the $500 list price for the phone. The device comes with free shipping in the U.S. and no contract is required with the unlocked deal.
The Developer Edition is a GSM phone and won't work for CDMA-based carriers like Sprint or Verizon. The phone has 32 GB of on-board storage and a 4.7-inch display, which is more compact than this year's Moto X.
And if you're having a hard time deciding which Moto X to get, be sure to check out our comparison guide.

Yea, it is a great deal, I grabbed one to replace my HTC first that I'm using as a work phone. I've been thinking of getting the moto g LTE to replace it, this device for the same price is a no brainer if your looking in this price range. Posted via the Android Central App

Eh... 2013. This is NOT a great deal. Posted via Android Central App
-
A lot if people find the 2013 the better of the two Xs. Better egronimics and better battery. I am very tempted to sell my N5, break even, and get this instead.
-
For me size is not an issue, but battery may be. I'd actually rather have the larger screen. I'm more interested in upgrading for the build quality, and metal frame. Posted via Android Central App on the Moto X

True. The leather back looks really nice on the 2014 X Posted via the Android Central App
-
Very true, I would probably go with the plastic red that I have now on my 2013 X. I really can't decide if I want the nexus 6 though. We'll see when the time comes. Posted via Android Central App on the Moto X

That's a pretty damn good deal. Tell me a better unlocked device out there for $230, especially one with 32GB internal storage and without piles of carrier bloat.

How is this not a great deal? Specs are definitely beast for $230! Don't worry we know you're trolling. Posted via the Android Central App

Specs are beast if it's the year 2012 Posted via Android Central App
-
They are a beast for the price point it's being sold at, believe it or not their is a world and a smartphone market outside of the flagship market. At this price we are talking entry level devices mostly with Qualcomm 400 chips. Posted via the Android Central App

It is a great deal, the 2013 Moto X is still a great phone and at that price point it can't be beat. Posted via the Android Central App

That's a pretty good deal considering it will likely be updated to lollipop this month, and it's still a very snappy little phone. I have the regular moto x 2013 on Verizon, and for my needs it performs great. I don't have any lag either. That's not to say I'm not interested in buying a new moto x or the nexus 6, however. I'll probably wait until March or so when all the kinks are hopefully worked out with lollipop. Anyway, for those of you wanting to jump on this sale don't hesitate. It is a great phone, and you won't be disappointed. Posted via Android Central App on the Moto X

I was really considering it until I read that it won't work with Verizon, that's a total bummer. I'm the kind of guy that stops a microwave at 1 second to feel like a bomb defuser.
-
Verizon ones are actually cheaper (16 GB though I think). Check Swappa Posted via the Moto X (2nd Gen) on 5.0

I need the 32. Great deal though. I'm the kind of guy that stops a microwave at 1 second to feel like a bomb defuser.

I have the 32GB on Verizon, I wouldn't do 16. I'm sure its feasible, but my phone is about half full. Posted via Android Central App
-
This is really great deal considering I just sold my 16 GB last week for $250. I guess, lucky me.

I was one of the suckers that bought it for full price last year...and I want Andriod5.0 already! Posted via the Android Central App

Seems fair. A year later it is likely a reasonable period. The 50% plus price discount number feels a little like nonsense. Seems like about the right price point. Posted via the Android Central App
-
It's a year later and the Nexus 5 is still the same price. Posted via the Android Central App
-
That's because of the 6, you pay the 650$ or buy last year's as an alternative Posted by my soon to be retired Note 3

So tempted. My favorite phone of all time. I now have the GS5 that I wish I loved as much. Posted via Android Central App

It should work on AT&T's LTE..

works just fine on AT&T LTE

I would love to have this in combination with my LG G3 Posted via a Rooted AT&T LG G3

I'm in the UK and this would be perfect for me. But delivery costs and import charges kill it. Posted via the Android Central App
-
Here the same, 230$ for this phone is a bargain. But import and delivery charges ruin the deal... Hopefully get this price in Amazon.es soon.
-
It's on Amazon for $279.00
-
You're better off with the XT1052 version anyway if you want LTE in Europe.

I have forwarded this to multiple friends, thanks for the heads up Posted via my LG G3
