Lenovorola still loves us - more Moto X codes are trickling out

$349 off-contract codes going out to 'loyal' customers
Folks who registered or purchased a Moto X from Motorola.com (opens in new tab) are seeing an email with a new "Loyalty code" in their inboxes, that offers a Moto X for $349.99 through Moto Maker.
You've been loyal to Motorola, and we'd like to thank you with this exclusive offer. Design Moto X with Moto Maker and use your exclusive promo code, LOYAL-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXX (redacted), at checkout. Trade in your old device for an even bigger discount.
Of course, you'll still have to spend some extra cash on the wooden backed look, but a base price of $350 for the Moto X is worth a close look. Of course, new models are coming from everyone, including Motorola, but chances are none of them will be $350.
We've no idea if these codes are able to be shared like the last ones were, but I imagine we'll know shortly.

If you have a code you're not using I'll be happy to use it for my wife...

email me. jerry@androidcentral.com I'm actually curious if these codes can be shared

I guess this will be the first test of how fast companies can keep updates coming when NOT owned by Google. The Moto X and G were the only devices ever to have decent update times that were not Nexus devices. We will see if this was because of something Moto was doing or that Google was giving them early access. So sad because even though I never had the Moto X (use a Note 3) I loved the pressure that Moto was putting on the marketplace with updates and customization. This was a great phone, especially for $350-$400...I thought it was not good enough for a $500+ price tag
-
They spoke on this at MWC saying Google didn't have anything to do with the updates to Kit-Kat.
-
What pressure? OEMs are still putting out lazy updates just as they did before the X and G came into the picture.
-
....and 99% of smartphone users still dont care
-
The buyout isn't complete yet. It still needs regulatory approval. You'll have to wait a bit longer for the first test of how updates are handled under Lenovo ownership. Posted via Android Central App

THIS^^^ The sale has not yet happened. Could be months from now.

I won't be using my code. Hopefully someone can take advantage of it. If you use it, reply to my post so I can remove the code (assuming that is not reusable). LOYAL-CFOW-2EAC-BFRK-YYR5

I'll be using it thank you.
-
QUICK! We need to sell these off before we roll out the new model that undoubtedly everyone will hate that will actually make money
-
To much for one of these IMHO, I know it's a great experience but this will be very outdated hardware in a year, maybe less. Posted via Android Central App
-
The same goes for every phone lol Posted via Android Central App
-
Nope, it's just as fast as my Nexus 5, only it has better features....and the GPS works...and it doesn't lock up once a day. Posted via my Shnexus 5
-
It's not as fast as an n5. It doesn't install apps as fast, open apps as fast, it doesn't recognize voice inputs as fast, it stutters more often than the n5. The hardware in the X is very inferior to others hardware. It may have good software optimizations and near stock android, but it doesn't mean the hardware is as powerful. And yes I do have both. I've been noticing lately the moto x just doesn't do things as quickly. Maybe just about as fluid but not as fast.
-
Dude...I really liked the Moto X for the same reasons most do which is the form factor and hands free driving, but it's not even CLOSE to as fast as quite a few phones with the 800 and the N5 is the fastest of them all.
-
If I bought this at a full retail price I would be really pissed. Posted via Android Central App
-
I did, at $500, still owe $470 to Motorola credit. What a sucker.

Their sales team did the most hideous job ever. Or it's Google to blame. Posted via Android Central App

Sweet !
Didn't get it yet, though.
They should just make it a regular price (300$ flat) because nobody is obviously willing to pay more or same as N5 is priced. Average user probably doesn't even know it exists and those in android community are mostly way into the spec sheets. It's also a new year with many new releases coming up, so they better get rid of them all until it's too late. Posted via Android Central App

I think they are doing this anytime they get slow at the plant in Texas. When you own your own plants instead of subcontracting them to China, you have to keep work flow in the plant. I appreciate what Moto is trying to do.

Already got my Moto X 32gb, so I won't be needing my code.

Enjoy! I do feel they should have dropped the price more by now though.

Thanks milesmcever, used your code on a dev edition for $399

Still trying to decide whether I should dump my Nexus 5 and get the DE of this phone. Any input? Posted via my Shnexus 5
-
DE?
-
Dev edition, got it.
-
Hm...
It's hard to compare. Depends what you are doing with it.
N5 has a better camera and screen.
Side to side I see no difference in speed (except for gaming prob) processing. Equally snappy and smooth.
Moto has a better speaker, longer battery life and def feels better in hand and pocket.
May be anecdotal but I found that signal on Moto is stronger. I would say that it also fares better when it comes to drops and it's splash resistant too.
In terms of Dev friendliness , no clue - I didn't touch it beyond Custom icons and launcher. Will stay unrooted for awhile.

Motorola has always had the best radios. Posted via my Shnexus 5

I would say if you plan on keeping the phone for a while, stick with the n5. If you really want the few added features of the moto x, then go with that. But I don't think at this point if you have the n5 already, its worth getting. I'd say at least wait for whatever moto comes out with next. I have both phones and to me, there's nothing too tantalizing about either phone to make me favor one.
-
I cant comment for the nexus 5, but I love my moto x. I could not use anything else because the moto x's size hits my upper limit...

You guys are all a bunch of sad pandas with Google out. Haha Posted via Android Central App

My last 3 phones have been Motorolas (OG Droid, Bionic, Moto X) but apparently I'm not loyal enough. I've never gotten any of their loyalty codes. Still love my Moto X though.

I would love to get one of these instead of the next Nexus but I really love having built in Wireless charging. If the next Moto X has that too I will get one. Love all the colors though. :)

I grabbed a Friends With Moto code a while back, intending to pick up a MotoX, but wound up buying the Nexus 5 instead. The deal is the same as the Loyalty code: $50 off Code is yours, if you want it! Valid until July 1st, 2014
