Jelly Bean 4.1.2 leaks for the original Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Folks with the OG Galaxy Note (the world version GT-N7000 -- the one with the home button) are in for a treat, as SamMobile has a leak of 4.1.2 for the big gal. Be aware that this is a testing version, and may not be up to release standards. Known issues are the lack of S-Pen features.

The list of enhancements and what is working is a good read though. According the the source, here's what to expect.

  • Android 4.1.2 – Build JZO54K
  • Project Butter
  • Multi-View (can also be disabled)
  • Page Buddy
  • Notification Panel can now be customized
  • New Additions in Notification Panel
  • Smart Rotation
  • New Samsung Keyboard
  • Samsung’s Cloud services
  • Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play Features
  • New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
  • 2 Home screen modes
  • New Notifications bar
  • Google Now

As for when to expect this one to become official, the sources think that will happen near the end of he year or early 2013. There's no word on when we may see anything for the US versions of the Note. For more instruction and the download links, hit the source link below.

  • Sorry to say that, but this is old news. There are already 5 custom ROMs on xda.
It was first provided by eybee1970 on 22 Nov.
  • This is not old news, this is a leak of the stock rom provided officially by samsung.
  • Not fair to tease we who have the i717 like this!!! Word on the street was we were going to see some GN II and GS III features and it's cool to see the confirmation, including multiview! Those are Samsung exclusive features and I need them very very badly!
  • I've been really impressed lately by Samsung's improvement in supporting late-gen devices. Remember how awful they used to be with the GS1? The S2/Note even getting JB is impressive in itself. I wouldn't consider these last-gen devices having to wait 4-5 months for JB a loss for them. Although, i'm sure they benefit from the Note and S2 being very similar internally.
  • 50 million Galaxy S2 users waiting on a critical browser security patch (almost 6 months now) say differently.
  • STILL waiting for the GS2 international to be updated. Come on Sammy, if the Note can, surely the GS2 can as well pull your finger out!
  • There was already GS2 leaks of 4.1 :)
  • I just want the official release, either that or the Nexus 4, or might even buy a Note 2
  • I will wait for official release for my primary device. Comparing an N4 now and it has nice screen and super smooth, but too small: 4x4 icons and can't fit enough large text. Also do not want note 2 with only 4 icons wide, not as appealing.
  • how to enable smart rotation
  • I just purchased one of these devices and love it! I don't see any reason why JB would not be updated on this device. The specs show that it is more then capable of running the OS with no problem. Bring it on!
