HTC Scribe trademarked, to be company's first tablet?

Hmm, look at what we have here. Many of us have been patiently waiting for any information to surface about an HTC tablet in the works, and today may be that first break. Here we have a patent filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the "HTC Scribe" -- a pretty fitting name if you ask me. The Scribe, according to the filing, is a Handheld wireless device, namely, a tablet computer. I don't think it can get any more blatant than that folks. Will we hear something at CES? Hard to say, but we sure can hope! Check out the full filing in the source link. [USPTO via Pocketnow]

  • Scribe " With Sense ". I can't wait to see a tablet version of hTc Sense. I wonder if they will keep their trade mark dock or go with a more stock one. Maybe replace the Phone button with a Internet button. :-)
  • THAT WOULD BE A PRETTY GOOD IDEA BOUT REPLACING THE PHONE WITH INTERNET BUTTON.. I CANT HELP BUT WONDER WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE. I LOVE THEIR PHONES SO THIS WOULD BE INTERESTING.
  • I've been waiting to see HTC come out with there tablet I wonder if they can make a tablet as good as they do with there phones hmmmm....
  • This is the tablet ill be waiting for.
  • Word.
  • I wish they will make a tablet with 5 inch screen
    That would be great
  • I disagree... That's just small enough for me to think it's not a tablet and just large enough that it's not a phone. WTF is it, then? It's an unpocketable thing with nothing really going for it.
  • They pretty much do. It's called the evo.
  • no a little bigger, like 8' would be better, to bad we don't have a release date.
Coming this close to CES I doubt that they would have a demo available, only just taking out the ptn on the name but we can hope!
  • don't see my self buying anything smaller then 10ish... i pretty think a cellphone like the EVO already fill that need.
  • After playing around with my in-laws iPad over the holidays I agree with you that I don't see myself buying smaller than a 10"ish. Actually looking forward to iPad 2 specs and seeing what Honeycomb brings to the table for Android Tablets. I am not in any hurry but I did enjoy using the iPad and can see my family enjoying a device like these very much.
  • If I cant have a stock android OS for a tablet id probably only go with HTC. As soon as they come out with a 4.3 inch screen phone, goodbye DX.
  • Just throwing this out there. This seems to be the only tab that wasn't announced at CES. Methinks it may get announced at CTIA in March which is usually where Sprint announces all their goodies. Could the Slate be headed to Sprint as the HTC Evo Slate?
