Backing up your data is easier with these methods.
You have all these awesome photos and videos on your phone, but what happens when you decide to buy a new phone or your on-device storage becomes too full to take anymore? Since most phones these days don't give you the option to back up to a microSD card, that leaves one solid option: back it all up to the cloud!
There are a few incredibly easy-to-use apps that let you store your photos and videos online. Here's how you can take advantage of them to easily back up your photos and videos to a cloud storage service.
How to back up your photos and videos to the cloud or your computer using Google Photos
Google Photos is one of the best ways to store, back up, and view your photos if you have a smartphone. It will also seamlessly upload them to your Google account storage. If you don't have it for some crazy reason, get it. It's a free download in the Google Play Store.
1. Open the Google Photos app and tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
2. Tap Photos settings and then select Back up & sync.
3. Choose your Upload size from among Original quality or Storage saver.
Now, all of the photos and videos you've taken on your phone will be copied to the cloud where you can access them from anywhere. Generally, we recommend that you set Google Photos as your default photo gallery app, in large part because its back up and sync abilities are rock solid.
