Weekly Photo Contest: Clouds

No matter what the prompt is for our Weekly Photo Contests, we usually end up getting a good number of skyline or scenery shots. That doesn't mean that people aren't following the contest guideline, but that there's just a lot going on up there in the sky that can add cool dimension to your photos. For that reason we're going with "clouds" as this week's photo contest prompt, letting you express your best photography skills looking up at the sky.

For their entries this week, we'll be giving away a Chromecast to three winners of this contest.

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a forums post at the link below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (June 24) night at 11:59 PM ET, and announce them on the blog with next Wednesday's contest.

Enter this week's photo contest

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
  • Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per week per person.

Good luck, everyone!

I've been requesting instructions for nearly 9 months.

Since hundreds are successful with uploading pics, apparently AC has no interest in providing the instructions for those encountering difficulties.

Kevin Oates says:

How are you trying to upload them? App, pc, tablet?

DCBamBam says:

Upload your pic to photobucket, copy the IMG link, paste in message, post. That's how I do it.

Android: It will make you a sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me.

I'll drop you a Private Message

I have never been able to submit a picture without weird workarounds. It NEVER works from the app, never ever. From the desktop site, it also never works to upload a picture. I've tried in 3 different browsers. The only way I can manage to get a photo posted is to email it to myself, upload it to Google+, then copy the URL of the photo and submit it to the forum using the URL method. It's extremely annoying.

AC needs to verify the data on the picture to make sure it's been taken with a cellphone like they do at I More. I swear it's too many variances between shots with the same type of phones when it comes to detail

They do this.

Sharing my shot from today. High in downtown Miami, around teh same time for the last week, thunderstorms form from the west and roll through the south east. I heard the thunder about 45 minutes before the first raindrops feel outside my apt. Took this photosphere shot and cropped it, a little post processing in VSCOCam and viola! There you have it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3OMkVs-Bxv4X2tkWDI2dmFqbGM/edit?usp=sh...
