Spec sheet spied in Docomo brochure reveals Snapdragon 800 CPU, 4.3-inch screen, 20.7MP camera

It's been over a month since we heard anything of the Sony "Itsuki" — rumored to be a smaller version of the Xperia Z1 with similar specs. Originally rumored for a September unveiling alongside the full-sized Z1, the device was a no-show at IFA in Berlin earlier this month.

But today brings further evidence of the miniature Z1's existence, in the form of a brochure leak from Japanese carrier NTT Docomo obtained by XperiaBlog. In it, the Sony Xperia Z1 f is listed alongside the regular Z1, with a full spec sheet and renders to boot. The Z1 f is shown in black, white, pink and lime green, with a 4.3-inch, 720p display, a Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also seems the Z1's 20.7 Exmor RS camera has made it across to the smaller version, along with that handset's IP58-rated water and dust resistance credentials. Powering the Z1 f is a 2300mAh battery, according to the spec sheet.

The specs fit with earlier rumors that the mini Z1 wouldn't sacrifice raw horsepower in order to fit into a smaller chassis, though with a thickness of 9.4mm, it looks like the Xperia Z1 f might be a good deal thicker than earlier Z-series phones. For now, we'll have to wait and see if the Z1 f will see release outside of Japan, but it's encouraging news for those looking for top-level specs in a smaller handset.

Sony Xperia Z1 f could be a miniature Z1 for Japan

Snapdragon 800 on a 2300mah battery, I wonder how battery will be..., though it looks like it only has to power a 1280x800

having a Snapdragon 800 (as opposed to a 600, for example) will actually improve the battery life, as the 800 is more efficient. So I wouldn't be worried about battery life.

How so? Sony always makes the best mid-range/mini phones, when all these sites were praising the S4 mini and htc one mini they over looked the xperia zr which was the mini to the Z that packed the same 13mp camera as the flagship and the same quad core s4pro chipset the only compromise was a vga front cam and 8gigs internal memory. Sony always make the best mini's and that's a fact but remember sony has a contract with docomo to release 2 flagships a year with that said I hope this mini comes out of Japan.

The Z1 f specs shown here list a thickness of 9.4 mm whereas the Z1 is 8.5 mm thick. Wow, these 0.9 mm really make it 'a good deal thicker'. ;-)

Another comparison: My current S4 mini is 8.9 mm thick.
Personally I would readily trade in 0.6 mm more thickness for getting an IP58 phone.

Aw but it could have been so much smaller! 127 x 64.9 is the same size as my Moto X, only 2 mm shorter. I was hoping this mini phone would have mini bezels. Now I won't even consider buying it any time soon.

At the right price I would not mind this phone. With the great specs and water resistant features it could sell a lot

Let's stop calling phones with a 4.3+ display miniature... -_- seriously, Benjamin Franklin would slap you for that.
