Xperia Z1 Compact

But don't expect a charger with it

UK carrier O2 is has now begun selling the new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, with the great news of availability of all 4 colors. It's a pricey little number though, costing you £479.99 on a pay-as-you-go agreement. On contract pricing however can have you leaving the store with a free phone, with the O2 Refresh tariffs for it starting from £37 a month. But don't expect a charger in the box. As O2 has done with past devices, it has decided you probably already have a USB power adaptor at home, so you don't get another one. You can still buy one at a 'discounted rate' though.

The Xperia Z1 Compact is an exciting device, mainly because of its size. With a 4.3-inch 720p display and 2300mAh battery the only differences between this and the regular Z1, Sony has achieved what many of us have wanted for so long; a high end smartphone in a smaller frame. If O2 is your carrier, and this is the one for you, hit the source link below to order.

Oh,...I don't like that name. But I guess "Z" has to stand for something.

I wish they would make the bezels smaller. The deminsions are within a few thonsandths of an inch of the moto x, but has a lot smaller screen. I don't mind the thickness but those bezels are huge man!

What are you complaining about? The Z1 Compact is almost the same size as the iPhone, plus the bezels insure its robustness and the water- and dust-proof features. Be glad that a phonemaker like Sony finally developed a phone with monster specs in a reasonably sized body at a reasonable price. What would you need 5 inches of a screen for anyway?

Its the same size as the moto x. The iPhone has huge bezels also. Everything you just said makes no sense.

"Its the same size as the moto x" yeah thats true but Z1 Compact has bigger battery and camera sensor + IP58 certification (waterproofing usualy makes the phone little bit bigger or thicker just like S4 Active and Optimus GJ).

I think the size of the bezels is very reasonable especialy if you considering big battery, camera sensor and IP certification.
The bezels also will provide much better and secure grip especialy when you holding the phone in landacape mode with one hand.

when it comes to screen ratio Xperia ZL is much better than Moto x.

maybe you forget that Z1 Conpact has IP58 certification, 1/2.3" sensor and 2300 mAh battery.

Xperia ZL has better screen ratio, bigger battery and thinner than moto x.

All joking aside...this is a good phone but as for me, I don't think I could stand to look at it all day. Maybe if I see it in person I would feel different.
