Moto Connect

The Motorola Connect browser-based notification app has had a beefy update to include group text message notifications in your PC's Chrome window and MMS viewing. There's also better matching between contacts and phone numbers now, hence the new location permission. As always, you can read and reply to text messages from your computer's keyboard, so long as you have the Chrome extension installed and you're packing a Moto X, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, or Droid Mini.

We haven't heard much about the Motorola Connect app in awhile, so this update is welcome news, especially for Moto X owners. How many of you guys use Motorola Connect already? How do you (or do you) get notifications from your phone on your desktop?

I use air droid for PC MMS. I wish moto would give this feature to moto g. Still. I can't wait for drive assist mode on the moto g. I'm not sure why this wouldn't work for the moto g.

I use Motorola Connect all the time. This is a great update. MMS has been my biggest grind. Nice to see that that's been addressed in this update.

I also welcome this update. I used Connect, and the two biggest issues I had have been addressed: MMS and improved contact recognition. Prior to this update Connect only recognized about 30-40% of my contacts. Now I'm at 100% recognition.

I used Moto Connect initially and thought it was great because it was the only game in town. However, I went to Mightytext when Connect stopped working. Now, my expectations are higher, and Connect doesn't meet them even with the upgrade. The greatest shortcoming for me now is that Mightytext sends indications to my Chrome desktop when my phone rings. Connect doesn't. Also, Mightytext sends MMS from my Chrome desktop. Connect does not. C'mon Moto! Step it up!

Nice remote control Terry Hildenbrand! My company makes it, so it's kind of a cool surprise for me to see it pop up on AC.

I have been using MyPhoneExplorer for a couple years now, it works on all Droid phones. Does the same thing and more by the looks of it. Allowing contacts and calendars, file managers and status. Oh - and it doesn't run in a browser.

I use it ALL the time, as in, whenever i've in front of the computer (which is most of the time). between Moto Connect and Google Voice button for Chrome, i barely type text messages on my phone! Now even better!

Can anyone gets this to work using Hangouts as your messaging app? MotoConnect still seems to not pick up my messages if I use Hangouts.
