Body Glove Snap-on Case for Droid X

The Motorola Droid X is no wimpy phone, but that's not to say it couldn't use a little protection. If you're looking for a form-fitting case that's as stylish as it is effective, check out the Body Glove Snap-on Case for the Droid X.

The case itself comes in two parts -- a thin plastic front and more substantial rear enclosure. The Droid X fits neatly inside, and the two parts snap together for a snug fit. (Take your time and make sure all of the sides of the case are snapped tight.) The inside of the case is lined with a felt-type material, so you shouldn't have to worry about your Droid X being scratched. The outside of the case is a textured rubber. That does a couple of things: You get a good grip on the phone, so you're less likely to drop it, and it's less likely to slide off a table or car dash.

You'll definitely notice when the case is on the phone, but it's still very form-fitting, and you get the feeling that it's protected. The case is just thick enough to keep the screen from touching the surface when it's placed face-down. Same goes for the camera. The are cutouts for all of the usual ports, buttons and camera lens, so you don't lose any functionality.

You also get a detachable belt clip with the Body Glove Snap-on Case. There's a little cutout in the rear of the phone that snaps off, so you can replace the belt clip nub with a flat back. The belt clip snaps onto the nub and has a spring-loaded catch. The short version is that you're unlikely to accidentally trigger it and drop your phone.

We've got more pictures after the break. The Body Glove Snap-on Case for the Motorola Droid X is available now for $24.95 in the Android Central Store.

Phil how durable does the belt clip feel. I had the Verizon branded case and holster combo and the belt clip snapped off the first time it caught on the seat belt getting out of the car. So I'm looking for a replacement and this may new it depending on how well it will hold up as a holster. Thanks.

The one thing about all these snap on cases that I hate is they create a lip all around the screen for bebris and dust to accumulate and it also makes it harder to wipe the screen free of fingerprints and such , I prefer the molded harder silicone cases that come off and on so much easier and provide as mush protection without all the hassle of removing a snap on case

I'm personally no fan of clam-shell designs since my Blackberry days. I tried 2 kinds and pocket drops and car exits had them pop out on the ground. The Seidio Active case I have on the DX is great. Looks great too!

I don't use the clip at all I use a mag-mount type device.
If you want to protect the phone then this is your case. You will know that you have a case on the phone However you'll feel the security of good protection of a six hundred dollar device..
Case unsnaps with a quarter using the provided release slot.
My phone looks naked without it now. The appearance of my phone after almost six months is A1 shape.
I had tried silicone cases but didn't care for them.

Avoid Body Glove cases like the plague. I made the mistake of buying one, and it scratched up my Droid. The interior of the case does not fit snugly enough to avoid abraision, and over time it scratches up any paint you have on the phone.

I would use the Otterbox cases instead. Have had mine for about 8 months now with no (further) damage to my phone, and it protects as well or better. It doesnt hurt that it also looks cooler. It seems to endure wear and tear really nell too...mine still looks brand new.

When is someone going to design a car mount that u don't have to remove a case to use?

had one of these...it was fine for a while until i actually dropped the thing about 2 feet to the carpeted floor at the office...one of the inside snaps broke...so i lived with that corner not "locking" in place for a week or so...now i'm on the silicone cover which works just fine.

I actually picked one up tonight, I don't use the belt clip since I don't care for it. I am interested to see how it holds up. As for the paint damaged I had not read that before.

I have the BodyGlove on my Samsung Fascinate; but will likely be hunting for a replacement. I have only dropped it once and it popped apart and one of the corner snaps broke off as well. I don't trust it :-(

Important to note... I had this same case on my Droid X and it scratched the crap out of it... It IS a nice case, just so long as you don't take it off and look underneath...

I had one of these cases right when i got my Droid X. I keep my phone in my pocket all day, and from sliding it in and out periodically the case fell apart. These cases are junk so i bought and Otterbox.

I've had my case for awhile now, and have up until recently been satisfied with the case. Case fit is good, and I've not seen any scratching on the phone surface. However, (you knew that was coming) recently the rubber skin of the case has begun to peel away from the plastic frame of the case. The rubber skin has a nice grippy feeling, but if it's going to peel away it will be of no use to you. I plan on using some superglue on it to see if I can get it to hang on a bit longer, but will look at other cases in the future.

Really liked my body glove case for about 2 months. Belt clip is good love the kickstand be but noticed about 2 weeks ago when I put it on its squeezing it so tight a liquid looking spot shows up in screen disappears when removed the case. No screen damage at all and works fine just frustrating.
