AT&T green lights the Android 4.4 and Sense 5.5 update for the carrier's HTC One

Following on the heels of the T-Mobile HTC One's KitKat update getting approval, we find that AT&T's version is also approved and coming soon!

It takes a bit to get the update URL primed and ready, and there are probably some last minute preperations that are needed — a must-have when you have so many customers. If you've got an AT&T HTC One in your pocket, keep an eye out. And you know who to holler at when that KitKat update starts to come down!

Finally!!

DroidOn says:

I've had my HTC One updated to KitKat on Sprint for a few weeks now, and all I can say is it is no big deal. Any changes are barely noticeable. And that's fine. I believe there are a few new online capabilities which I do not use. But the overall experience with the OS has not changed.

Same here. I noticed a couple of minor UI changes but I like them. My battery also seems to last longer, but that just might be me.

There is, also, what I consider a negative aspect of the update to Kit Kat--that is, the removal of Adobe Flash. Some will argue that it was poorly made, but for me, one who used it for work web sites, it worked flawlessly. There are ways to get it back, though. ;)

Not sure I understand the logic of removing it when it could be a toggle.

How do you get it back?

Can I have a cookie, too!?

If someone's handing out cookies better be enough for everyone!

Kit Kat tastes like Jellybeans. Can't tell them apart...

What does coming soon mean? In movies that means not today or tomorrow but coming soon (week or so)

Realistically it will probably begin to push next week. As the article indicates the carrier generally has a few last minute things to get in place to support the load on the servers and have tech support ready to troubleshoot issues.

It's also possible it could push this weekend ... They love to be unpredictable lol

In movies it means summer of next year.

Is Host Cared Emulation (HCE) enabled in this build? Does Google Wallet now work or not? The leaked Note 3 ROM had HCE disabled.

jlh73 says:

Wow, how long does it take to push the update. Not to long since tmobile did last night.
