VSCO's upcoming redesign puts equal emphasis on creation and discovery

VSCO has announced some changes that will soon make their way to its popular app for Android. The app will feature an all-new design aimed at making it easier both to create and share photos, as well as find work from your friends and exclusive VSCO Original content.

From VSCO:

We're excited to share that we'll be rolling out a redesigned mobile app for iOS and Android, which focuses equally on both creating and discovering on the VSCO platform. Move seamlessly between a space for editing and publishing, and a space for consuming great content from the people you follow and VSCO Originals.

Gestures play a bigger role in this new VSCO experience. At the bottom of the screen in the new VSCO app, you'll find a circular toggle, which when swiped up, down, left, or right will take you to a different section of the app. Pulling the toggle right, for instance, lets you explore community creations and find people to follow, while pulling left will bring you back to your own space.

VSCO has not announced a timeframe for the rollout of these changes, saying only that they are coming soon.

  • I've tried a few times to like VSCO but I don't really get it. It's just Instagram for people who post things other than selfies and 'inspirational' quotes? Posted via the Android Central App
  • Me neither. And the few people I know who had one just used it like an instagram. Reminds me of MySpace days and people trying to get me to sign up for every little alternative that popped up. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Vsco is pretty dope but I gotta say I'm a Snapseed first type. Followed by PhotoShop Express then Vsco. The explore section is unique however and they usually have some great content there. One picture at a time--LG V10
  • Snapseed is still the best. But I have also tried PS express and while I think calling it Photoshop is misleading, it's almost as good as snapseed. Posted via the Android Central App
