The new models all have Sony's X1 processor engine inside, which should make the Android TV user interface look even cooler. Here's what Sony has to say about that processor.
While Sony TVs have had expanded color, brightness range and upscaling for years, the X1 processor takes another step forward in improving these features. Thanks to X-Reality PRO Picture Engine, developed from over ten years of experience in upscaling, all existing HD content is upscaled to super clear 4K quality.
We got a chance to check out the Sony X900C TV model at CES 2015, which Sony claims is the thinnest LEC TV in the world at just 4.7mm. The X900C will actually ship later this summer in 55-inch and 65-inch versions, while its X910C version will come in a 75-inch model. No prices have been revealed yet for those devices.
However, you can get the X830C 43-inch and 49-inch models in May for $1,299.99 and $1,599.99 respectively. The X850C comes in 55-inches for $2,199.99, 65-inches for $3,499.99, and 75-inches for $4,999.99. The X930C model is 65-inches for $4,499.99, while the X940C is 75-inches for $7,999.99.
Sony is also selling the W800C and W850C televisions, which also support Android TV, starting in May. The W800C is sold in 50-inch and 55-inch models for $999.99 and $1,299.99, respectively. The W850C comes in 65-inches for $1,899.99 or 75-inches for $2,999.99.
