Nexus 6 pre-orders in the UK to start as soon as November 18th, ship by December 1

Pre-orders for the new Nexus 6 might kick off as soon as November 18th in the UK. Eager customers for the first Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered Nexus phone in the United States have been able to pre-order the Nexus 6 from Google Play for nearly a week now, and while we currently have no indication of when Google Play in the UK will have the phone up for pre-order, is putting up their own pre-orders for the phone starting on the 18th, with delivery on the 1st of December.

Those pre-orders will start at £28/month on O2, with unlimited calling, texts, and 1GB of LTE data (you might want to opt for a higher-priced plan). Of course, offers many other plans from several other carriers, so you'll have your options. You'll have your choice of the three colors for the Nexus 6 — white, black, and gold. Otherwise it's the same 6-inch Quad-HD beast we went hands-on with recently.

So UK shoppers will be able to place their orders for a Nexus 6 in just two week's time — who is getting one?

  • News like this all but confirms the US carriers having this phone next week.
  • "white, black, and gold" When did Nexus 6 get black and gold? .
  • Good luck UK with the pre-orders! LMAO... It will be sold out in seconds just like the US last week. Better luck getting it in a carrier store and probably faster too
  • Where are you getting your info from Derek? US customers were able to pre-order for all of 2 seconds AND the Nexus 6 doesnt come in gold or black...thats the nexus 9. Nexus 6 comes in midnight blue and white.
  • "have been able to pre-order". This phrase. You use it. I do not think it means what you think it means.
  • HAHAHA! No doubt! Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nexus 6 in white, black and gold colors? Did I miss something? Where did the Midnight Blue and Cloud White go? And I've never heard gold mentioned at all.
  • White, black, and gold? I have not seen black or gold mentioned anywhere. White and Midnight Blue. More uninformed retail salespeople
  • Google need to get their act together. Granted they've only been selling tech for a few years but apple roll their flag ship devices world wide on the SAME DAY when its ready to ship. If google is serious about bettering apple they should start here. /\_/\
  • They aren't and never wanted to. If they did they would have kept Motorola as the hardware arm and stop farming out to all the other oems. Obviously that isn't possible because they would alienate those that made android viable (Samsung, LG, HTC, sony). Though the 6 seems to be a great device, Google and hardware, in this form, are on the outs I think. Posted by my soon to be retired Note 3
  • The nexus 4 and I believe the nexus 5 and nexus 7s had simultaneous international release. It's probably one of the downsides of it being moto built. Posted via Android Central App
  • Doesn't exactly seem overly soon... Posted via Android Central App
  • I thought you could only pre order for 20 seconds and you haven't been able to since, the colours are wrong as well, and no outright price is given. I have to question the validity of anything in this article. Regardless, I won't be bothering with the shambles that is the play store pre ordering system. Most likely be quicker to get from the high street n5
  • Phones 4 u? Too soon? :) (It felt very uncomfortable typing "4 u" instead of "for you"") Posted via Android Central App
  • They deserved to go for that alone! Got my n5 day one from carphone warehouse while everyone else was backed up on the play store pre order. n5
  • "Eager customers for the first Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered Nexus phone in the United States have been able to pre-order the Nexus 6 from Google Play for nearly a week now" OH, LORD. AC's 2014 Joke of the Year right there.
  • Great author/article... Uggg, this article is filled with inaccuracies and lies! WTF AC?
  • Any clue what it'll be off contract Posted via Android Central App
  • £500-£520 (£499-£519, taking marketing bullshit into account)…that's just my edumacated guess of course... But I'll be surprised if I'm wrong. Posted via Android Central App
  • I'd be Ok with £500. £550 is my guess though n5
  • I think that'll be where the 64GB model sits, and who wants less storage? That said I'm still using an N4 so I'd kill for 32 lol. Posted via Android Central App
  • To be honest I would pay less and take 16GB as I'm used to it now as I've had the last 3 nexus'. So 32gb is fine for me. I get why others want more and for the price we're going to have to pay 64gb should be the bottom end anyway. I just want it to be available now, I'm so impatient and I'm going on holiday on the 3rd Dec and I'd like it for the improved camera alone n5
  • I wonder if HTC will screw Nexus 6 pre-order folk like they have the Nexus 9 pre-order folk by doing another `hot deal' after pre-orders have shipped. B******s. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Seems unlikely, given that HTC have absolutely nothing to do with the Nexus 6. Posted via Android Central App
  • Excellent point. So furious I made a ridiculous comment! Posted via the Android Central App
  • This whole story just reads like trolling.. 'as soon as 18th November'
'have been able to pre-order... for nearly a week'
'same choice of three colours' Just poorly written nonsense. Posted via a Nexus (Socialist, yes. Group discount, no.)
  • Agree...totally worthless article IMO :(
  • All 5 of them.
  • I've made my choice by just buying the LG G3. I currently own the nexus 5 and the LG does feel like a better device. Ill Posted via the Android Central App
  • It is a great device.. Of course it's not a Nexus.
Plus, seems like LG will not be allowing unlocking for bootloaders from the G3..
That would be an important distinction for some
  • 1gb of 4g is plenty on o2 as the 4g network is shocking Posted via the Android Central App
