In Short

IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) is an annual consumer electronics show held in Berlin, Germany, which often serves as a launching platform for smartphone and tablet manufacturers. Think of it as a mini-Mobile World Congress ... though "mini" in this case means there will still be over 200,000 people exhibiting or attending.

This is the show where we've historically seen Samsung dominate with the release of its yearly Galaxy Note model, but the Note 5 is already on the streets. We do, however, have the Gear 2 smartwatch waiting for us, and it wouldn't surprise us to see a few other, well — surprises crop up!

This year's event officially runs from September 1-6, but the media days historically start a bit earlier so you can expect news from the show starting on August 31 and continuing throughout the official show!

While press events typically take place around the city in the lead up to IFA, much of the action will center on Messe Berlin, the massive event venue that plays host to the show. Android Central will be on the ground at IFA to bring you full coverage of the show's events. Keep watching this page for all the latest developments!
