Jared started off writing about mobile phones back when BlackBerry ruled the market, and Windows Mobile was kinda cool. Now, with a family, mortgage and other responsibilities he has no choice but to look for the best deals, and he's here to share them with you.

  • That's not bad at all. It's not Marshmallow but at least they are committed to keeping the phone updated. Lets hope they keep it up. Good job BlackBerry.
  • Nice! Keep them coming¡ :-)
  • Much needed Priv screen goes up.

  • So how do we know carrier branded ones will actually get the update on Dec 7? Carriers love to twiddle their thumbs.
  • Does this update change the Android version at all?
  • Not this time; just tweaks and updates. Still good news though.
  • Marshmallow is next year.

  • So if I got a carrier phone and had it unlocked do I get the update or do I have to wait? And how do I tell if they really did unlock it?
  • You'll have to wait. Unlocking your phone just gives you the ability to put in and use a SIM from another carrier. It doesn't otherwise change the software, so it's still an AT&T (or whatever) phone for the purposes of OTA updates.
  • They say Dec 7th, I have an att phone unlocked. Will try and update here when I see the update come over. 1 week after a release is super fast carrier wise though... Posted via the Android Central App
  • Nice to see. So MM may not be that far away after all. Posted via the Android Central App
  • So far the camera seems a bit faster including the multishot...when you hold the camera button down its instantaneous. If they can send these patches and updates once a month or close to that I'll remain a happy camper. Loving the Priv so far. Posted via the Android Central App
