ASUS has fared remarkably well in India on the back of the success of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and the ZenFone 5Z, and the Taiwanese manufacturer is now looking to cater to the gamers with its upcoming phone. The ROG Phone was unveiled back at Computex, and ASUS is now getting ready to launch the device in India on November 29.

India is the latest market to receive the device, with the gaming-oriented phone going up for sale in the U.S. and the UK in recent weeks. Smartphone gaming as a category has seen a massive uptick in India thanks to titles like PUBG, and more and more manufacturers are starting to cater to that demand.

Honor was one of the first to the fray with the Honor Play, and while it isn't advertised as a gaming device, the Vivo NEX is particularly brilliant for PUBG. ASUS' offering is aimed at the high-end segment, and that's immediately evident when you look at the hardware on offer.

ASUS ROG Phone hands-on: A fantastic option for a particular kind of gamer

The phone features a 6.0-inch 18:9 AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, and there's a higher-binned version of the Snapdragon 845 that goes up to 2.96GHz. You also get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as standard, dual 12MP + 8MP cameras at the back, MicroSD slot, 8MP front shooter, two USB-C ports, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 with AptX HD, 3.5mm jack with a dedicated DAC, rear fingerprint sensor, and a 4000mAh battery.

Oh, and it also has liquid cooling as well as vents at the back, and RGB lighting. It is one of the most interesting phones I've used this year, and it's great that ASUS is bringing the device to India. That said, the phone retails for £799 (₹72,800) in the UK, so it is possible it will cost around the same in India. ASUS has been very aggressive in the Indian market of late, so it'll be interesting to see how much the device will cost over here.

With the launch slated for next week, we should have all the details shortly. In the meantime, how much do you think ASUS' gaming phone will cost in India? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
