I envision a certain Phil Nickinson being really excited right now.

But then after saying that, it would be my luck he doesn't even use Verizon.

rexdeaz says:

But, will the switches STAY flipped???

Rossy B says:

Hells yeah! Tallahassee up in this mug...So excited for the Tally 4G LTE on my Thunderbolt.

Anyone know of the footprint or radius of these coverage areas? I live in between Pensacola and Tallahasse, about 45 miles east of Pensacola. Probably just out of reach. lol

Mike_is_Mike says:

Footprint = 5 toes and a heel.

You are probably in the arch (out of range)

Thanks, I guess it's better to be an arch than a heel. Even if I have to wait longer.

poor sprint.

I wonder if Providence RI will be on it's own announcement or if it will be part of the Boston market expansion... Hopefully the latter, otherwise I'll be waiting until at least 2013 according to the current release announcements.

Mike_is_Mike says:

Must be a typo - did they mean to say a FEW? I think a SLEW is more than a dozen. :-)

tom1l21 says:

Im pretty sure Sprint has abandoned us WiMax customers. I havent heard of a new deployment in months.

All those new cities are nice, but some decent new handsets would be even better. WTH takes Verizon so long to roll out new devices?

squane123 says:

They are spending the money on the Network instead of putting out more 4G phones than are needed.... *cough cough Sprint*

They've been teasing me all morning here in Tulsa. It's been up and down. I hope this testing means it's coming soon. I was hitting download speeds of 20 Mbps.

tgrant1975 says:

Us sprint customers r just fine. At least we have better phones now. ;-)

You guys forgot Gainesville, FL. I know we're kind of a small city, but I'm excited, nonetheless!

Please explain to me the reason that Fayetville/Lumberton gets 4g before Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill?? The research triangle area is a mecca for tech firms and they give the 4g green light to the much smaller towns first??? what are they thinking?

smthomas66 says:

It's probably simply easier to get all the towers upgraded in those areas and they beat the Triangle to it by getting the work done. I'm in Fuquay-Varina when at home so I don't believe I'll catch a 4G signal at home from this but I did read as of last week that Apex was getting some of those get it when you can 4G LTE days while I guess some testing is going on. I think we are all getting very close to having the switch flipped on our area. I might have to drive a little south to check it out. Any festivals in Fayetteville this weekend?

rpw27607 says:

All American Week is being celebrated at Ft. Bragg, but I do not know what that entails. I am located in Central/West Raleigh, So I highly doubt I will see any of this 4g goodness, until they actually turn it on in Raleigh proper. I am sure your right though, fewer towers to upgrade in a more rural area. Just crossing my fingers that Raleigh/Durham is next on the list, hell they even lit up Wilmington already too, I am headed down there later this month, so I will get to see it first hand on my T-bolt.

raineslc says:

I just moved to Fayetteville from Atlanta so I've been missing it.... They probably did it just for me... I'm such a champion...

squane123 says:

Simply because someone high up on the Uncle Sam List asked for a faster connection for his SF guys. Next will be Jacksonville NC. They will hone in on areas that they can get a quick buck. Incoming and outgoing servicemen and women.

Still no love for Richmond VA....

Gorilla says:

Yea Tallahassee has 4G

ibejack96 says:

haha phil is happy

Still no LTE love for Little Rock. Bah!

harle83 says:

What????? No Love for Palatine, IL? Seriously I'm in and out of 4g constantly! Who the hell lives in Elwood besides 10 people in a Trailer Park????

mripirate says:

2 bad there is only 1 lte phone

There are two.

dacp283 says:

Come on what about central Tx!?

Looks like Verizon may have flipped the switch a little early in the Philly market. I live about 5 miles from the edge of Philly's (previous) LTE service in Mt. Laurel, NJ. To my surprise when I came home today, I have 5 bars of LTE. There is a tower about half a mile from my house where I assume the signal is coming from.

It is freaking awesome right. I was just about home this morning and attempted to DL an app and it said I was still 4G... Freaking Awesome.. Actually reaches into the Turnersville Areas

Still no California love, huh? Boo.....

iamvh605 says:

Had 4g in Denver while on vacation, it rocked! Back in South Dakota, looks like it is going to be a long wait.

squane123 says:

Ok, so the upgrade for the Philadelphia Areas now put 4G Coverage as far as Turnersville NJ... So Close to my Home... I switched to 3G about a mile from my house... Huge increase.. Used to be only to 295. Very Nice increase. Keep Coming. So close to getting rid of internet all together and just using my cell. Need 4G in my living room.

drummerj80 says:

Yea!! I'm in the slew!! Gainesville FL is getting it too. They have been running tests all morning. I loved using it in other parts of Florida where it's been available.
