Android Central

If you're rocking a U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S II, your long wait for Android 4.0 is finally at an end. The update is available for download, although it doesn't look like it's going out OTA. Hit the source link at the bottom of this post for more, but basically you'll need to download the update and install via your computer.

While still Touchwiz'd up, the jump from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich is a sizeable one. New ICS features like Face Unlock are baked in, and it opens up a whole new world of applications to take advantage of, like Google Chrome. Also built in to this update are 'additional apps' with Google Play Movies and Slacker being installed as part of the package. Jelly Bean hasn't rolled out to any worldwide models of the Galaxy S II, so this at least brings the U.S. Cellular variant up to date with it's compatriots. If you've snagged the update, be sure to shout out in the comments and let us know how you're finding it.

U.S. Cellular's Samsung Galaxy S II finally getting an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade

Now if only alltel would get off their butts and follow suit, I'd be a happy camper since its the same dang phone.

If you care enough about it, you'll root and flash. They might even port this build to your version if, as you say, "its the same dang phone."

Also the galaxy S3 got its Jelly Bean update last night you just have to go to the store to update until they fix the OTA. I am running it right now and so far works great.

Well it's about dang time but better late than never.
ISC on the US Cellular GSII is WOW!! compared to GB.
Faster, snappier and clearer, very high clarity.

Simple Upgrade Tool- good name for it as it is simple,
it crashed at the end of the flash, right at the last OK button,
then force closed, oh oh what now? well just pulled the usb and
Hit the power button and it booted up just fine, no loss if data or files,
Works just fine. Feels like a new phone, thanks AC
for the post, been waiting for a long time for ics (not rooted, don't want to)

Now I want JB.
