Seidio Innocase II Surface for the HTC Thunderbolt

The Seidio Innocase II Surface for the HTC Thunderbolt will give you great protection for your phone, and doesn't hit your wallet too hard.  It's two-piece sliding design is easy to put on and off, with a soft interior so you don't scratch your Thunderbolt while using it.  The locking mechanism is nice and tight, and seems to be the improved version like we have seen for the HTC Inspire, so this one isn't going to come apart in your pocket.  The case is made from a hard plastic material, and has a soft touch coating that feels very nice in your hand while using it.

All your ports and controls are easy to access, with precision cutouts that are well designed and large enough to use the buttons and ports without any trouble while the case is on.  The corners and edges wrap around the front of the phone, and give enough of a lip to keep the screen off the surface of whatever its laying on.  I'm especially liking the way the power button was cutout, as often hard cases leave you fumbling to hit the button -- not so this time around.  There's even a cutout below the kickstand for the magic antenna button.

Possibly the nicest aspect of the Seidio Innocase Surface series is the matching Seidio Innocase Holster.  It's hard plastic with a felt lined interior, and it's face-in design makes for a great way to carry your phone with no fear of bumps and scratches.  The retaining clip is large and easy to operate, and while the phone is in the holster you still have access to the power button, volume rocker, and USB port.  The swiveling belt clip offers a choice of carrying options, and the clips are easy to open while still having a strong grip.

You can purchase the Seidio Innocase II Surface for the Thunderbolt in black, sapphire blue, burgundy, and amethyst for $27.95 from the Android Central store, as well as the matching Seidio Innocase Holster in black for $27.95.  More pictures follow, after the break.

HTC Thunderbolt case review: Seidio Innocase II Surface

Having owned three different phones and all with Seidio two piece cases, they are easy to remove once you get used to how they work.

They are great cases. I am disappointed, however they made no mention of the RUGGED ADD ON case that goes OVER the Surface II for added protection. I have been using this combo on my Thunderstorm for a bout a week and it is MORE than great.

I use the surface case for everyday use and add on the RUGGED CASE for when I am out hiking, playing golf or any outdoor activity where I might need the added protection.

I am ALSO disappointed they made no mention of the ACTIVE X case, but maybe they have limited space - or are saving those other two cases for a later review.

Thunderstorm? The illegitimate child of the HTC Thunderbolt and the Blackberry Storm? Really, though, how does it interact with a screen protector? I put one on for a friend (on an iphone), and even though no bubbles were present at installation, about a week later several popped up along the sides where the case was touching the protector.

Ha! You caught me! Yes, I switched from the Storm to the Thunderbolt and got the names mangled. Although mating the two would not be a bad idea, but I think both of my phones are male.

The sales person put the stock screen protector on my TB in the store on 3/17. I got my Surface II case a few days later and have put it on and taken it off almost daily since (swapping batteries) and I have no bubbles, ripples or lifted edges at all.

It also would have been nice if they had shown one (or all) of the other colors, black is so boring. I have the blue and it looks quite classy.

I really liked the one that I got for my EVO; but after a while it got kind of loose/creaky, and scratched the sides of my phone up pretty good. I ended up replacing it with a two-part Casemate case (also from the androidcentral store!) and love it.

with all the battery problems that are being said about the htc thunderball why is it that no one's made a case that fits the extended battery I mean everybody's buying an extended battery 2750 yet no 1 makes a case for it does that make any sense ...
