Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2

Alcatel has announced two new handsets for T-Mobile: the OneTouch Fierce 2, and the OneTouch Evolve 2. There's no mention of price, but they'll be launching in September, likely targeting poor students heading back to school.

Here's what you get with Alcatel's OneTouch Fierce 2.

  • 5-inch qHD display
  • 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor
  • Android KitKat 4.4
  • 5 MP auto-focus main camera + VGA front camera
  • 9.9mm thick
  • 1 GB RAM + 4GB of storage (expandable up to 32 GB with MicroSD)
  • 2000 mAH battery for up to 6 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby time

Here's a quick run-down of the Alcatel OneTouch Evolve 2's specs.

  • 4-inch WVGA display
  • 1.3GHz dual-core processor
  • Android KitKat 4.4
  • 5 MP main camera + VGA front camera
  • 512 MB of RAM + 4 GB of storage (expandable up to 32 GB with MicroSD)
  • 1400 mAH battery for up to 6 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby time

Though these phones are U.S.-bound, maybe we'll get a glance at them while we're at IFA next week. Anyone have experience with Alcatel devices? Would you grab one over the more recognizable brands?

T-Mobile to sell Alcatel OneTouch Fierce 2 and Evolve 2 in September

Please do not make general stupid statement about subject your do not know. Alcatel DOES NOT make phones. Most of the phones under the name of Alcatel are made by TCL - one of the best quality phone company in China. The have very good models, like TCL Idol line. Most of the models from that line are good and dual SIM. Problem is T-Mobile stupid frequencies so phones need to be customized and It look like T-Mobile decided to cut on all features plus they load bunch of their garbage quality apps that drain battery and makes thinks unstable. It is T-Mobile to put blaim on not Alcatel/TCL. My favorite is also there are newer models. How many phones are thinner then 7 mm?

He does sound Quite Stupid.
Just sold a One Touch Fierce to get the LG-L90.. a much better device.. The L90 is on sale for $99.60.. It even has a 2560 mAh Removable Battery.. where the One Touch is smaller and fixed.. and once Rooted and Animations tweaked for Speed along with Nova Prime the L90 becomes a bullet on 4.4.2 KK. Nice to see the One Touch v.2 going from 4.5 to 5.0.. but their qHD is not the same as LG's on the L90.. my L90 is like 720P much, much sharper than the qHD on the One Touch v.1..

After my wife broke the digitizers on two galaxy s3's shortly after they came out I gave upon on high end phones. Luckily for me I purchased an Alcatel OTF mark 1. For the $150 (including Walmart product replacement plan, which I'm using a few days before it ex spires due to bad headphone jack) its a tremendous value. This phone has handled anything I've sent its way. My only gripe about it is that as of yet custom ROMs are not supported--that has nothing to do with Alcatel.

The mark 2 doesn't seem to have many performance enhancements under its hood from the mark 1. Bigger screen? Big whoop. Another gigabyte of ram would have been a much better improvement.

I've never used them, but I am not a big fan of selling them. However, I am excited for round 2 of these devices because on a low end device it's usually a good upgrade. I'm personally crossing my fingers for better screen quality.

Im not a fan of this brand, previous device experience leaves a bad taste and hesitation to look at these with unbiased eyes.

I haven't used any of their Android phones but their feature phones work ok. Nothing really impressive but it got the job done. A local company sells them. I don't think they are bad but they are not on my shopping list either

The Evolve is a POS. I was just trying to get a backup phone, and found it at Walmart for $30. My thought, what could go wrong? EVERYTHING!! phone lags so much it's not even funny. returned it the next day
