T-Mobile G2 nearing End of Life

With the T-Mobile G2X now available that means T-Mobile will be bringing the original, T-Mobile G2 to the EOL list. No indication on when, exactly it will be placed there but it has already disappeared from the T-Mobile website so that's a good indication it's just right around the corner. EOL doesn't mean it'll be ripped off store shelves never to be seen again of course but it does mean of you've been holding back on grabbing one -- you should do so while you still can.

my feelings have been hurt, because I love my G2. But I guess that's technology. A love hate relationship.

If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the real kick in the balls; the Nokia 1661 prepaid is on the list.

So T-mobile won't have a keyboard phone?

MT4G Slide and the new Samsung slider. I'm sure both will come before they EOL the G2

CeluGeek says:

Yes and No. T-Mobile still has the Sidekick 4G, the Motorola Cliq 2, the Motorola Charm and the MyTouch 3G Slide <- soon to be replaced by the MyTouch 4G Slide.

What T-Mobile will no longer have is a pure Android phone with a hardware keyboard, which is sad since there's still no such thing as a Nexus phone with a hardware keyboard. All the keyboard-equipped Android devices in T-Mobile's lineup have Android adulterated by Motoblur, Sense or Touchwiz and even then, the Sense and Touchwiz interfaces are adulterated versions so they don't fully match the Sense and Touchwiz versions on other HTC or Samsung devices, let alone the pure Android experience.

They have the fairly new Sidekick 4G, although it looks like Celugeek beat me to the punch.

Wasn't this the first 4g phone and the n1 with a keyboard?

Arshley says:

so... no gingerbread update??

the life cycle is about to end already? if that's the case the evo4g will probably be next.
