Samsung

Samsung has been rather forthcoming when it comes to telling folks what devices will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The list of eligible devices has been updated a couple times now but one carrier; namely, T-Mobile has remained missing off that list until recently. The newly updated list now features in total, four T-Mobile devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S II (SGH-t989)
  • Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G (SGH-t769)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (SGH-t869)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SGH-t859)

Not surprisingly, they don't differ all that much from the various other carriers out there but it is nice to see T-Mobile added and that leaves us with the impression Samsung and T-Mobile have at least a general idea of when things will get rolling out to the masses.

Samsung updates ICS upgrade list to include T-Mobile devices

The worst time in my life and highest height of Android addiction is waiting for this ICS update. I find my self checking my phone every sec and waking up at nights to check. Give us a date already let my addiction end!!!!!!

The Samsung Galaxy S7 will be out before they update current phones to ICS.
I will still be using my Galaxy Note by then and running the leaked
CCC/Chocolate Chip Cookie OS on it.

We may not know much what Google has up their sleeve with regards to Jelleybean but I'll be pretty happy with ICS with the Galaxy S3. I'm sure Jelleybean will come to the S3 sometime in the first 3 months of next year.

This is of course after they go thru Butter finger, Tootsie roll, Gummy Bear, and Potato chip
operating system updates.

Except they are going in alphabetical order, so butter finger and gummy bear won't happen. More like jellybean, kolache, licorice, marshmallow, nougat...

These updates will probably happen once the Galaxy S3 has launched on T-Mobile. Just like the HTC Sensation and Amaze updates were held until after the HTC One S launched

Good to see T Mobile getting the updates together for those folks. Now we need to see the other carriers, with the list of phones they have confirmed for updates (I'm looking at you Verizon), get down to brass tacks.

I remember when Samsung announced that updates would come sooner than later and even that they expected ICS to roll out by the end of the 1st quarter. I knew it was to good to be true. One things for sure, they are consistent in their roll outs. Hands down HTC don't play when it comes to updating the OS.
