The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has just recently been announced, and we're already showing signs of life on T-Mobile U.S.A. This screenshot shows a device model T889, which, after a bit of deduction and cross-referencing with UAProf data, suggests that it's the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2. the source of the screenshot says that T-Mobile's version will be keeping the Exynos quad-core 1.6 GHz processor, and tap into their 42 Mbps HSPA+ network. We're expecting this bad boy to launch in mid-October in Europe, but there's still no indication as to when we'll see the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on this side of the pond.

What's all the fuss about? Well, here's a reminder of the Galaxy Note 2's specs.

  • Network: 3G: HSPA+ 21Mbps (HSDPA 21Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps); 4G LTE: 100Mbps/ 50Mbps
  • Processor: 1.6 GHz quad-core processor
  • Display: 5.5” HD Super AMOLED (1,280 x 720)
  • OS: Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • Camera: Main (Rear): 8 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash, BSI; Sub(Front): 1.9 Megapixel VT Camera, BSI; Best Photo, Best Faces, Low light shot

Be sure to check out our hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from IFA for a closer look. It is definitely a sweet-looking device. Hopefully we'll get some indications of a launch on other U.S. carriers soon. Any T-Mobile customers considering holding out for this one, assuming it lands before the holidays? Maybe give that new unlimited data plan a shot?

That would make the Note 2 the first Quad-Core and most powerful phone for T-Mobile? Plus LTE option?

I wish the S3 had the LTE chip but was just disabled for later use.

So since Verizon just announced the 5" LG, and now rumors of a 5" HTC coming, I think the Note2 landing with them is getting less likely. Any indication this may still land on Verizon or Sprint?

corymcnutt says:

I hear ya...I can understand Verizon being quiet about it, as it wants to sell the 5" LG (although I'm not sure why)...but if Verizon thinks that LG is a replacement for the Note 2, they must be blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.

Finally! A quad core phone I can call my own. Now here's hoping it gets released sometime this year.

LMAO after everyone on tmo went nuts over the 1st note now they may be getting the 2nd note way to go tmo on getting suckers to buy a year old phone now you may get the new note thats so wrong lmao

Darkseider says:

Umm... T-Mo in the U.S. never released the Note. So this would be a win for the U.S. market.

Naza1966 says:

t-mo never released the note?? where have you been under a rock???? must be

If phone specs list HSPA+ 21Mbps how does it use 42Mbps? Both are in article...

This will run on Tmobile and it's HSPA PLUS 42MPS network just like the current Galaxy S3. Plus with the unlimited data plan starting today I can see the Galaxy Note 2 being a major deal on Tmobile. Since they was the first carrier to carry the Galaxy S3 in stores on June 21st i can see Tmobile being the first to carry the Galaxy Note 2. The only carrier that won't see the Galaxy Note 2 will be Verizon. Otherwise Samsung made the International version the same as the one Tmobile gets so all they have to do is make one for At&t and one for Sprint. I could see Tmobile launching this between October 26th and November 14th just a guess. Plus Tmobile will get the jellybean update to it's current Galaxy S3 users on Tmobile before the end of September. This is a great time to be a Tmobile customer plus tmo will be seeing the Htc One X +announced very soon hopefully as planned September 26th. Yes sir BIG TIMES on Tmobile..
