R2-D2 Droid 2

Word on the streets -- and in our Droid 2 forums -- is that the R2-D2 version of the Droid 2 is getting its Android 2.3 Gingerbread update today, just shy of the anniversary of its launch. Dunno how many more updates we can expect to get out of this thing, and that's a shame, be cause it really is in first-class condition. We've worked with him before.

Gingerbread pushing out for the R2-D2 Droid 2, too

Poor Artoo, off to the Jawas with him and the rest of the Droid 2s. Hopefully Moto will offer an R2-D2 edition in the Droid 3 linup.

What about the Thunderbolt?? Damn I hope every morning to see the update come rolling out. This update for the Thunderbolt should fix the few remaining little quirks this phone has. I think the Thunderbolt is still the best device out there. Just my Opinion, I own just about every freaken phone out there. I must be freaken crazy.

By the time Thunderbolt gets the OTA Gingerbread update, there will be a dozen other phones getting the ICS OTA upgrade.

I will take your word on being freaken crazy. :-)

I woke up to the update, but it seems to be making everything REALLY slow. I almost missed a phone call this morning because there was a 15 second delay between hitting "answer" and actually being able to hear the other person.

Well, here's hoping your upgrade is smoother than the HTC Incredible's update has been.

Amazing that android central hasn't mentioned at all that the Incredible GB upgrade has borked a majority of phones and the others think that they are SPRINT EVO's (4.3 inch WVGA display and no longer has access Verizon App's in the market, only Sprint!)

So be careful and here hoping it's a smooth ride for R2!

I wish that I managed to snag the update for the D2G before it got pulled... Too bad I had to flash an .sbf in order for it to update, and I didn't have time to do that for a couple days. Oh well, back to my OG Droid.. Hopefully your update doesn't get pulled for something that people rarely use anyway (microsoft exchange sync)
