Europe gearing up for Xperia X10

Looks like our pals across the pond are getting closer to having the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 (see our hands-on) in their hands. First we have the above Vodafone product material. No word on when it's dropping. Our tipster says sometimes getting the material in store means "very soon," and other times it doesn't.
Then there's O2, which briefly listed the Xperia X10 as a phone for which it would have accessories. O2 later took it back, telling CoolSmartPhone "We currently haven’t announced any involvement with the X10 and so our web team will be removing this listing shortly." Whoopsie. So either that's a true mistake (doubtful), or we'll be seeing the X10 there soon enough.

Motorola says no OTA update being pushed to the Droid

Throwing a wrench into some of the discussions in our forums and here on the site, Motorola took to Twitter today to say that it hasn't pushed out an update for the Motorola Droid since the December update, which we take to mean the Android 2.0.1 update. So what's the deal? And, more important, when will we see the Android 2.1 update hit? (Thanks, Jeremy!)
Update: Apparently all you pitchfork-wielding Motorola fans have spurred another comment from @MotoMobile:

HTC releases source code for Sprint Hero; ROM cookers rejoice

Sprint ROM cookers are foaming at the mouth this morning as HTC has released the source code for the Sprint Hero. That means better ROMs, built from the same zeros and ones as HTC. It likely won't contain every line of code you'll find in an official Hero ROM, as close-sourced code doesn't have to be released. But it's already been compiled, and ROMs are cooking as we speak. Meet the new myTouch 3G -- same as the old myTouch 3G

Welp, there it is. The updated T-Mobile myTouch 3G Version 1.2. Looks just like the current one, save for the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a welcome addition. Actually, there are rumors that there's more RAM on board (the current myTouch 3G has 512MB ROM/192MB RAM), but we'll have to wait and see on that. Still looking for an early February launch. Did The Motorola Droid OTA Update Improve Battery Life ?

We know a lot of you guys got the recent Motorola Droid OTA Update, we personally haven't, but we're hearing that among other fixes, the battery life of the Droid has been much improved. Originally intended to fix Facebook issues, maybe the OTA Update improved the battery life of the Droid as well? Since the battery of the Droid has never been a problem for us, we're wondering which one of you guys are noticing the difference? Let us know in the comments! And be sure to let us know if you got the Droid OTA update!
Battery life improvements withstanding, all we really want is Android 2.1 on our Droids.

Android 1.6 update for Archos 5 is back

Good news for those of you with the Archos 5 Internet Tablet (not to be confused with that other tablet that doesn't yet exist): The Android 1.6 update that was pulled as quickly as it was released last month is ripe for the picking. That pesky browser problem that forced the delay presumably has been squashed. There's also better "optimization of applications on the high-resolution screen," new quick search, bettery power management features and a new version of the ThinkFree Mobile docs viewer.
