Good news this morning for folks over in Japan, that Google is finally making the Chromecast available there as of tomorrow, May 28. Announced on Google's official Japanese blog, the Chromecast will cost ¥4,200 and will be available in the Google Play Store, Amazon and other retailers.

The Chromecast rollout has been slow and steady, but gradually more folks around the world are able to get their hands on one. Since the opening up of the SDK there is an ever growing collection of applications in the Play Store for Android users to take full advantage of their Chromecast. And of course, you're not even limited to using something powered by Android.

4200 yen? That's a bit much. Still a good investment, though.

Not if you're from the UK.

It's less expensive (in terms of exchange to USD) than it is I other overseas markets. I think the UK Chromecast is £30, which is more like $50.
