Android Versions

Better late than never, the latest Android version numbers (ending July 15) show the number of phones with Eclair (Android 2.1) and Froyo (Android 2.2) now at 58.8 percent, up from 54.9 percent for the previous two weeks. Phones running Cupcake (Android 1.5) fell from 21.3 to 18.9 percent, and Donut phones (Android 1.6) are down a little more than one percentage point to 22.1 percent. March on, folks. everyone talks about fragmentation on Android.
I would like to see this chart for the iPhone!
I know a few people who never update their iPhone because they aren't tech savvy and don't think to check for updates.

I understand there's problems with manufactures still being on 1.5 or 1.6 and that's a shame but at the same time, I have a feeling Apple has quite a few out of date phones even with their updates being available.

With Droid 2 shipping with 2.2, I wonder when us Droid I users will get an update to 2.2.

I have a stupid Moto Cliq, so I'm part of the 18.9% of the losers still on 1.5. Of course I can upgrade to Eclair, but I'm not rooted and I don't feel like going through the whole process.
