US Cellular is the fifth-largest wireless carrier in the United States, as it currently serves more than 4.75 million customers. With over 400 markets in 23 of the 50 states, the carrier offers a smaller service area than the other large carriers do. US Cellular began rolling out its 4G LTE coverage during the first quarter of 2012, and is continuing to expand its network with nearly 90 percent of customers already in a 4G LTE coverage area.
In terms of plans, US Cellular offers both post-paid and pre-paid plans, and like many other US carriers, it has done away with unlimited data. With shared data plans for families, individual lines, and prepaid lines, the company offers a variety of plans to get you up and running. US Cellular also offers a wide array of Android smartphones and tablets, and generally stays pretty current with its lineup. With a variety of devices, from high-end to entry level, the carrier tries to have an option for just about every consumer.
