LG shows a behind the scenes look at creating the V30's wallpapers

The LG V30 will be announced on August 31st at this year's IFA conference in Berlin, and as LG tends to do, the company is releasing bits and pieces of information ahead of the announcement. LG has already confirmed the device will have a 6-inch OLED display, a unique haptic engine and a fantastic low-light camera.

Today, LG has also shared how it makes some of the device wallpapers. The video shows the company working with different colors of lighting, cutouts of the letter "V" and other methods for creating the wallpaper shown in the leaked image above. The aspect ratio of the video is 18:9, the same aspect ratio as the screen on the G6 and presumably the V30.

  • Maybe be nice if they worked with the carriers to push out security updates instead of stupid wall papers
  • Those are handled by entirely different departments within the company.
  • With the rate at which updates come out, could be argued it's the same department.
  • V30 looking good...lets wait and see if i would get rid of my awesome G6 for V30
  • I'm having the same dilemma, as my g6 is great and still new, but I'm relatively certain that I'll plop down the cash for the V30 when it comes out. My more pressing concern is what the V30 plus will offer that the regular one will be lacking, if it's only more storage than the regular one is fine but that's my problem and if they release them simultaneously or like they did with the g6.
  • This is purely for creative minds who enjoy the process of seeing a vision come together. This was totally unnecessary but truly a piece of who they are as individuals. These same wallpapers could have just as easily and maybe more quickly been done on a desktop or Surface Pro. So kudos to these fine folk.
  • This is nice and it's always interesting to see the process of stuff being created, but isn't it a bit of an overkill? Couldn't all of this have been created using just a computer?
  • Read my comment above. But you're right.
  • And what would be the fun in that? I enjoy seeing these videos. I remember the one they did for the G6. Also very cool.
  • Is it me, or are the v30 and G6 pretty well the same phone now. They took what was different about the v'series and ditched it. the dual screen, different styling etc. I cannot tell the difference between the two now.
  • What a giant waste of budge and time.
A: this can all be done in photoshop now by one person.
    B: who used stock wallpapers?
    C: especially branded ones.
