What you need to know

  • Google now highlights the new games available on Nest Hub smart displays.
  • Games like Trivia Crack and Jeopardy will take advantage of the fully touch-enabled smart display to provide a more immersive experience.
  • More games will be made available through the course of the year.

Google is now adding support for more kinds of games to its Nest smart displays. These will be rolling out to the Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max over the next couple of days. While the Google Assistant has always been able to entertain with jokes and wordplay, these games will take advantage of the fact that Nest Hubs have access to a fully touch-capable display.

The new games include ones like Guess the Drawing, Jeopardy, Escape The Room, Trivia Crack, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, among others.

That's not all that Google's bringing, those are just the highlights. The company has more games planned coming throughout the year.

Google's John Hsu explains:

These are just a few of the games available today on your Smart Display, and it doesn't stop there. We're continuing to work directly with top game developers to unlock more immersive experiences that are only possible with the unique capabilities of the Smart Display. Stay tuned for the lineup of new titles we'll be introducing throughout the year. All you'll have to say is "Hey Google, Let's Play a Game" to browse the latest and greatest games.

Google recently added Netflix support to the Nest Hub Max, and with this, there are now more reasons to use your Nest Hub or Hub Max other than it serving as a glorified photo display or kitchen aid.

The Nest Hub Max is Google's largest smart display at the moment. If you're thinking of gaming on any smart display, the large canvas and loud speakers should provide an optimal experience.
