Google Calendar appears to be down for many users [Update: It's coming back]

Update: Google's status alert now says that Google Calendar "has already been restored for some users, and we expect a resolution for all users within the next 1 hours."

Original story: Google Calendar appears to be suffering from a service interruption right now, as many users are unable to access the service. Don't worry, if you can't get to your calendar you are not alone. Currently, Google's Apps Status Dashboard doesn't show any issues with any services, but there are several complaints on Twitter, and we are unable to access our calendars as well.

Hopefully this is just a short outage, and things get back to normal quickly. Are you experiencing issues with Google Calendar or any other Google service? Let us know in the comments below.

  • What the hell? A calendar shouldn't go down. Dam It Feels Good To Be A Google Gangster
  • I rely heavily on my calendar among other things for work. If this was to happen in front of my boss or my bosses boss I would be screwed. Talk about embarrassing. Dam It Feels Good To Be A Google Gangster
  • Mine is working. I did happen to notice that the app got an update last night though. Posted via the Android Central App

  • They're updating Google Play Services which affects just about every Google apps.
  • Has anyone else noticed that the holidays in the web interface aren't appearing in the android app? For example, Halloween wasn't there, nor is Veterans Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas. Yet I do have Columbus Day and the Day after Christmas listed. Anyone else seeing this behavior? I noticed it a few weeks ago.
