When performing a Google search on a mobile device, users will now start seeing relevant tweets appearing in the results feed, in addition to the normal links and images. Google has been making quite a number of changes to mobile search results, and the latest adds even more real-time results.
When searching for topics, users will now see tweets that are relevant. Searching for Taylor Swift, for example, will bring up a few of her latest tweets that you can scroll through, right from the search results. If you were to search for Malcolm X, you could see various users who are tweeting about that specific topic.
This feature will be available in English on Google.com and through the Google Search app on both Android and iOS to start, with a gradual roll out beyond this. Google is working to bring these results to more languages and the desktop, so stay tuned for additional information.
