Pantech Discover

The update to Jelly Bean will be sent out to users over-the-air

Pantech Discover owners should be on the lookout for update notifications, because starting today an OTA rollout has begun for Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. This is a significant update from the Discover's launch OS, Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Pantech has outlined the key new features of this update below:

Google Now, which will allow Discover users to automatically receive relevant information when they need it based on their interests, activities and habits, including weather, sports, shopping, upcoming events and more; Voice Search, a part of Google Search, lets you launch apps or add meetings to your calendar and provides personal results based on your location, and an expandable and actionable Notification Bar which allows for easier return of calls, sending and scanning multiple emails and sharing photos directly from your notification panel.

Pantech certainly is on a roll with its Jelly Beans, with the Pantech Flex getting a similar update just last month. It's good to see such support for manufacturers.

Are there any other new and notable changes present? How about bugs and problems with updating? Those that have already received the update, sing out in the comments.

Good news for the 4 people with this phone! :D

Seriously though, it's always good to see manufacturers rolling out updates and supporting it's customers, no matter how big or small the company or the update. Good job, Pantech, keep it up!

I wouldn't go as far as saying good job if they are just getting to 4.1.2 right now...

well it is a good job considering this is a AT&T Pantech getting 4.1.2 when Tmobile's SGS3 just got 4.1.2, the same day.

HUMMPH!! wise guys. I've gone from a Pantech Burst to Pantech Flex and now Pantech Discover. Pantech has gotten better with each release. Remember, people laughed at Hyundai when they first came to the US. Now they're kickin' ass. Same with Pantech, premium features at a very moderate price. Did the update yesterday, still trying to figure out the newest features.

I have the same problem. Have you figured out how to screenshot after the update?

Update: I just figured it out when I got frustrated and pressed the Power + Volume Down buttons and held for about 5 seconds. So same button combo, just longer hold time.

If you are using stovk ROM then you can try this.

From HOME
1. Click the MENU button and select SETTINGS.
2. Select MOTION.
3. Under “Hand Motion” settings, check “Palm swipe to Capture” checkbox.

just swipe your palm horizontally(L-->R/R-->L) over your screen it will capture a screen shot.

OR

HOLD down the POWER button and the HOME button at the same time. (Remember timing is imporatant)

Great! I can get Google Now set up on my wife's phone and show her how Song Search works, so I can stop with the "What song is this, honey?"
