Xperia Z3

Following yesterday's leak that revealed the specs of the Xperia Z3, a new set of images have surfaced that give us a look at the design of the device.

From the images, a major difference in the design of the Xperia Z3 from its predecessors appears to be curved sides, which should make the device more comfortable to hold. Other than that, the design is largely unchanged from the Xperia Z1 and the Z2, as the device in the leaked images features a magnetic connector, micro-SIM slot, microSD slot, rounded power button, dedicated camera shutter key and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.

Other than the 3.5mm jack, all the ports are covered, which means that the Xperia Z3 will likely offer similar protection against dust and water as the Xperia Z1/Z2. Am image of the camera sensor reveals that Sony is sticking with the 20.7 MP Exmor RS image sensor that was seen on the last two Xperia Z handsets.

The design showcased in these images may be of a prototype unit, and as such may not be indicative of what the retail model would look like. As for an official launch, it is estimated that Sony would unveil the Xperia Z3 at the IFA later this year. What do you think of the device in question?

New set of leaked photos reveal design of alleged Xperia Z3

Same here I always accidently hit the capacitive keys while watching video

Jeez people EVERY phone gas some bezel! First they complain about the M8,then the Xperias, then the iPhones, and then I even see complaints about Samsung. Clearly if bezel matters THAT much to everyone they should just buy G2s and G3s and be done with it, though they'd probably complain about bezels on those phones as well, because, you know, they have them.

Looks like they changed the speaker placement. The Z2 placement was on the edge of the screen which looks better. I don't mind how it looks from the leak but I read that the quality is not even close to BoomSound on the Z2 so I hope Sony made some improvements.

The speakers on the z2 actually faced up and down, not toward the user. So this is a functional improvement.

Of course the guy with the One M8 gets pissed at people not liking bezel

You are an ignorant twat aren't you? You have to have bezel. That is a fact. And the bezel on the M8 is slimmer than it was on the M7 and is there for an actual reason that you seem to stupid to comprehend.

Just because you "need" a bezel doesn't mean everyone else wants it. I for one hates the giant bezels that Sony puts on there phones. As soon as I can get a G3 without LGs crappy software or the next nexus I'll all over it. I like the look of Sony phones but in your hand it feels way too big

I'm an Android purist, and I believe LG 's software on the G3 is pretty damn good. I haven't had a desire to root or use a launcher yet.

M7 ugly bezel, M8 ugly bezel, experia z ugly bezel, experia z1 ugly bezel, experia z2 ugly bezel as you can see we don't need those ugly bezel, that is why they don't sell well, the only phone that have been able to get away with it is the icrap, because apple brain wash the isheep.

Didn't you know that the M8 and Sense create the perfect phone, according to this Dbag.

>I'm the kind of guy who stops a microwave at one second to feel like a bomb defuser.

Cordawgfrito: the internet douchebag who is a fanboy of Sprint and HTC. I have never seen a Sprint fanboy until cordawgfrito showed up on AC.

Haha yeah the M8 is awesome but it's got a ton of bezel. At least it has a better excuse (huge speakers) compared to Sony phones

Well Sony phones since the Z2 have had front facing speakers just not as good or as big as HTC's. Sony's devices are also water and dust proof.

It does look a bit smaller though, maybe they've finally made one that is actually normal size?

By the way.. It looks a bit like a Galaxy S2 now..

Looks like all the rest of the smartphones out there today, they are all starting to look the same to me, just with a different skin.

If the next Sony flagship has the following:
- 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or higher
- 4 GB RAM
- Min. 32 GB ROM + microSDXC card
- 2/3-type Sony Exmor curved CMOS sensor for mobile
- 5.2" JDI AMOLED display with Whitemagic, true RGBW full HD

Then that's the end of the story.

It wont, it will be the flagship to come after this next one thanks Sony's 6 month upgrade cycle

4gb ram huh. unless its pushing a 4k display and running touchwiz and sense at the same time I don't think it will need that much. At least not at this point in time.

I would almost definitely buy this, but due to Sony's strange strategy in the US I probably won't have the option until the competitors have had comparable phones out for months :-\

Oh look at that, it looks like all the other Sony phones. They need to change it up and give us a phone with hard angles , such as those on the PS4.

All these Sony leaks dont mean a thing in the US. I'd gladly buy one of their flagship phones, but it looks like Sony just doesnt want to sell them here. We got the Tmobile z1 and that was like 3-4 months after the z1 was released.

I would absolutely consider buying one if they offered it in the states. I feel like they would probably sell pretty well. They're obviously a well known brand here.

Seriously love my Z1, didnt expect it to be such a complete device. Would be hard to use anything else. Like Sony's approach; they have finally made a great phone and slowly upgrade with the latest tech. Tbh every year would prob be okay, but as long as they keep supporting older devices with updates I can get over it.

I like the design, I don't like the size.
So bring on the Z3 Compact. With 32GB internal storage + microSD please.

Hopefully this phone comes to the USA soon. The Z2 had a fantastic battery life rating on gsmarena battery tests and the Z3 is sure to just improve that.

It'll get here when the Z4 is being released to the rest of the world. I love Sony phones but I hate their alienation of the US market. I hereby vow not to buy a Sony device until their release in the US is in line with their release to the rest of the world.
