LG and Google are pushing out Android 4.4.4 to the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition tablet

Google has been quiet about the Android 4.4.3 update to the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition, and now it looks like both LG and Google are skipping that Android update in favor of jumping to the newer Android 4.4.4 revision. At this time, the update is hitting the Google Play edition as GPe devices usually are among the fastest to get the latest updates from Google.

The update will be staggered so it may not be hitting your devices just yet so you may have to wait a few days until it hits your unit. You do have to run at least Android 4.4.2 on your LG G Pad 8.3 GPe to be able to install the Android 4.4.4 update.

Both the Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4 updates belong in the KitKat family and are considered incremental upgrades so you shouldn't notice any new features off the bat. Many of the changes will be under the hood in terms of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Are you seeing this update on your LG G Pad 8.3 GPe? If so, how is the upgrade process for you? Let us know if you have any troubles in the comments.

Got it. So far running smooth as usual. Love the tablet for the price. My first gpe/nexus device and I'm digging the slimmed down and fast updates. Went and got a nexus 5.

P. S. ART for the win. YMMV, but i have good luck with quicker responsiveness. Chrome was one I remember that it helped.

Now, if Google would get them in stock I would buy one... Every time I try to buy something from the play store it is out of stock. Happened with both Nexus 7s and my Nexus 5. Now it is happening with a product that isn't even that cheap and isn't really a nexus. I have terrible luck buying from there.
