Sony has announced that they've begun rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to a wide range of their devices. The Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z are all enjoying the update, while Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1, and Xperia M2 are next in line for KitKat updates in July.
The update tweaks the interface to be more in line with what you'll see on the PlayStation 4, along with some tidying up in the notification tray. The native apps for messaging, e-mail, Album and Movies have been optimized, while Sony's Smart Social Camera has been added in alongside battery Stamina mode. The theme framework is in place now too, plus compatibility with wearables like the SmartBand SWR10 and adjoining Lifelog app.
That's a fair bit of new content for a wide spread of phones. Dig into your Xperia phone's settings menu to check for the latest update. How many of you guys are using the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, or Xperia Tablet Z? Are you digging the KitKat update? Is there anything else you'd like to see tweaked in the next patch?
