HTC Amaze 4G

The HTC Ruby that we've seen a leaked a few times may very well debut as the HTC Amaze 4G on T-Mobile -- maybe even on October 26 according to a leaked T-Mobile flyer.  A tipster let the fellas over at pocketnow know about the retail name, and the fact that HTC has filed for trademark protection for it points to it being spot on.  The Amaze 4G has some killer specs:

  • 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU
  • 4.3 inch qHD display
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8MP rear shooter with dedicated hardware keys for both still and video capture

It's one we're looking forward to seeing, as I'm sure more than a few of you guys are too.  Is is October yet?

HTC Ruby may be the HTC Amaze 4G when it launches

this phone if the specs are right, is what the sensation 4g should have been. i took back the sensation 4g cause it was so slow and sense 3.0 killed almost all the ram in that phone which is sad. im glad i got the g2x now. what a difference in performance

The funny thing is that the Sensation can be OC'd up to 2Ghz. It is also very stable at 1.5Ghz so I really don't see much of a difference.

I'd need to see more pics of the phone that aren't blurry to get a good comparison of the two. Thicker? Does this new phone have a better video chip? Adreno220 like the Sensation or better? AMOLED or SLCD? Beats Audio? Supports newer 42Mpbs network unlike Sensation which tops out at 14.4Mpbs?

There are many things they could do to set this new phone apart.

I'm hoping its a Sensation with the smoothness of the E3D (1GB RAM) and the shooter of the MT4GS (it'd be stupid for it not to). And better viewing angles.

And rumors say its 42Mbps capable which is huge.

But I agree, HTC is moving too fast for its own good.

To all you Sensation owners, if you want to see a fast phone on steroids, root it and DL a new rom, unbelievable, lightening fast.

PS What a shame, T Mobile has so many great devices, have come so far with their HSPA+ Network to just sell it to one of the worst carriers in the world, yes I said the world. It would be fantastic to wake up in the AM and see that Google has bought T-Mobile.

If this device doesn't have the radio from AT&T installed I will refuse to just by another paper weight, I own 7 paper weights right now.

People need to step back take a moment and realize what THIS DEVICE HAS what the Sensation and EVO 3D won't have. 1 The new sense 3.5 which NOBODY EVEN KNOWS WHAT THAT IS YET since the most recent sense 3.0 is brand new on the market. This new ruby is clocked at 1.5 Ghz the same internals as the current EVO 3D so it can't be that much faster or better than the EVO 3D but it does TRUMP the current SENSATION on tmobile. why cause it has 1.5 Ghz processor and 1gb of ram. while the SENSATION AND EVO 3D are clocked at 1.2 Ghz so we will just have to see how much faster the HTC RUBY really is to the EVO 3D and SENSATION. This device is the start of the next EVO BRAND on SPRINT in 2012. The projected specs of the EVO BRAND in 2012 is 4.7 inch screen 1.5 or 1.7 Ghz processor the only question will be dualcore or quadcore which I believe the new evo in 2012 will be an quadcore device packing 1gb of ram 1280by740 resolution as well as 2.0 ffc, and sense 3.5, dedicated camera and video button as well as 10megipixel camera on the evo 2012. I might check out this HTC RUBY when I return from vacation October 29th and if it's that good I will add it to my stable with that industry leading EVO 3D. that means I will also be a tmobile customer IF THIS DEVICE IS THAT GOOD....WE WILL SEE....There is something about tmobile branded device that are so much different than sprint device that I might not want this device I will see.....There no question that HTC DEVICES IN GENERAL ARE THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY..

If I were a Sensation owner, I'd be pretty upset about this. It's kinda like planned obsolescence in a way. although the changes aren't that drastic, it still doesn't make sense that they'd release the Sensation followed by the Ruby a few months after with minor upgrades.
