htc one m8

The HTC One M8 DS, a dual SIM variant of the company's current flagship smartphone, is now available for sale in Saudi Arabia from the Mobily wireless carrier.

The price for the HTC One M8 DS without a contract is is 2,899 SAR, or about $790. This version still comes with a 5-inch display, along with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. Inside, there's a 2.3 Ghz quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

There's no word yet on if the HTC One M8 DS will find its way to other countries and territories. This is just the latest hardware variant for the smartphone. The company has previously released a version with Harman/Kardon audio support. What do you think of this latest version of HTC's high end Android smartphone?

Thanks to Abbas for the tip!

This is pretty cool! I happen to be in Saudi Arabia, with a Nexus 5 on Mobily, and I'm forced to carry around an HTC M7 with a T-Mobile SIM in it to receive calls from the US.
This may be a way to carry only one phone around. Most of the dual-SIM phones I've seen are low-end. This is a nice alternative.

2899 Riyals ? Man that's a lot of money, but yet again Mobily been always more expensive than independent stores.

Why don't phone manufacturers offer ds phones here in the United States? Is the market here too small? I could certainly use one when I'm on call for work. Currently I have to carry two phones when doing so as it is not possible to forward the number from my companies on call phone to my phone. If I could just pop the work Sim into my phone it would make things so much easier.

I'd imagine they're more popular outside the US because of roaming charges from frequent border crossings.

The big problem I've seen with dual SIM phones are that one or more SIMS has to be 2G.

It's around 2500SAR (667$) in the independent stores. The same price for the single SIM.

Where have you seen these outside a Mobily store? I want to pick one up asap.
