If you've been itching to get your hands on a Droid XYBOARD, the sequel to Motorola's XOOM, you can now purchase one at your local Verizon Wireless retail store. The XYBOARD packs a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, an IPS, Gorilla Glass-coated display, and an LTE radio, and comes in 10.1 and 8.2-inch flavors. The 10.1-inch XYBOARD is priced at $529.99, $629.99, and $729.99 for the 16, 32, and 64GB models respectively, while the 8.2-incher will set you back $429.99 and $529.99 for 16 or 32 GBs.

Droid XYBOARD tablets are now on sale in stores

I need to see ICS pre-installed from the factory before I invest that kind of cash on this shizzle. Not going to be waiting around in Q2 2012 for Moto to push out ICS for this. Seen it far to many times the way devs focus on pushing the next newest product while barely supporting last month's model.

Yeah but I'm sure you can trust them. Don't you remember when they released the Xoom with caveats about forthcoming 4G, and forthcoming SD Card support? Yeah, that worked out perfectly.

The Samsung 11.6" ICS Tab is what I've got my piggy bank aimed at currently. Supposedly it's due out "early next year"... February/Marchish hopefully.

429... Hmmm With contract? Insanity... Bought a Samsung 8.9" Galaxy Tab last week at best buy. Without contract. 399

I agree. Even if the LTE radio added another $100 to the build, an on contract price should be a hell of a lot less....say $200 range.

Duh. You can't compare a cell device to a WiFi-only device. Obviously the prices are much different. Perhaps you should compare to the Xoom 2 8.2" WiFi instead?

So the one I picked up last Friday at 9:05 AM will be a colletors item and selling for thousands on Ebay in a couple of weeks. Sweet! I ROCK!!!

It's weird how a Motorola product is announced and VERY shortly after is released by VzW!

Eff you Verizon!!!!!!

Run the other way.

I will not buy vzw / moto tablets EVER again, and highly recommend to everyone I know to buy elsewhere.

You're welcome !

You are a dork. You can't compare the price of a WiFi only table to a cell-phone carrier tablet. Two totally different things.

The Xoom WiFi is price competitive with the Transformer and other tablets of it's specs.

I played with one of these at the store this weekend and I thought they were very nice. The best part was how smooth it was. I have a GT 10.1 and it can be very choppy and lag like crazy at times. The XYBOARD was smooth as butter. Not a bad product, but really expensive.

Am I ever going to be able to get a *decent* tablet that won't cost 1/2 my mortgage payment?

Yes. It is called, look at tablets, including the Xoom, that are not sold by and chained to a cell company. Hint: Xoom WiFi, Xoom Family Edition WiFi, Transformer, Iconia, etc.

Well, I have the original WiFi Xoom and love it. Perhaps you should give it a try or the new model probably coming soon if you don't want to get a discounted original Xoom. I've enjoyed it very much and I'm planning on buying the WiFi Xoom 2 once it is available and give the original one to my wife. Nothing wrong with it and it came with so much built in memory I've not even needed to add an expansion card and I use it pretty heavily.
