The Dell Streak on the mobile network O2 in the UK reportedly will receive Android 2.1 (Eclair) on Wednesday, Sept. 1. This will bring new features to the device currently running Android 1.6, including:
- 720p video recording
- Live wallpapers
- Multitouch
- Multiple Exchange email support
No word yet on when AT&T owners can expect an update, but its good that Dell's updating the device to recent OS' instead of allowing it to linger on Android 1.6. [The Really Mobile Project via intomobile]

Needed: O2 official release for AT&T streak.
Currently I am running the unofficial 2.1, I am hoping that this will fix some of the little bugs in it.
FYI: I talked to dell yesterday (8-29-10) and they said to expect 2.2 mid Semptember. For what this is worth, we all know how good dell is with dates!!!
Absolutely ridiculous. Why not go straight to 2.2? The device is more than capable of running it. Carriers really need to get their acts together on the OS update front.
