The Android Netbook rumor mill just keeps churning along. This time, Averatec is dropping their name with Android with reports stating that the company will be releasing a sub-notebook with a "surprise" operating system that "merges cell phone and PC technology".

Sounds like Android, right?

Actually I think the whole Android on a netbook is a horrible idea. I'm not very fond of the whole Java thing and I wouldn't like to see complex desktop software running in Java.
Besides , there's way too much Linux and open source software out there that's way better than what Android has to offer right now. I don't see Android competing with KDE and all that KDE software for instance.
