AT&T begins Moto X 4.4.4 rollout

It was only a matter of time after Motorola started pushing out an Android 4.4.4 soak test that non-testers would have the update, and it seems that now's the time for the widespread updating of devices. We've received a couple tips now and seen posts in our forums that indicate AT&T is rolling out the update to those who weren't part of the pre-release soak test.

Bumping up to Android 4.4.4 isn't a huge change, naturally, but the update does include a new-look dialer and the ability to pause video recording in the camera app — and of course being 100 percent up-to-date with the latest software is never a bad thing. If you have yet to get the update on your own AT&T Moto X, you may want to check now. Be sure to follow up in the forums with other folks to see exactly what's new.

AT&T begins Moto X 4.4.4 rollout to everyone after successful soak test

You ever notice that 4.4.4 is actually coming out for release a lot faster than previous builds.
Guess Google wants to make that graph bigger for Kit Kat before L gets released.

Congratulations to Moto X Owners. Awesome.

Got it on the soak. Seems like battery is improved but can't tell as I'm at the beach so running full tilt.

Anyone able to test normal usage?

Yea but it would be nice to see Google get Kit Kat at least 50 to 75% to shut up Apple on the Smartphone Market. Apple is killing them on the Tablet Market Share.

I know. I want Google to take control but not everyone wants it like that.

my update failed, it downloads, verifies, reboots, then gets stuck in the recovery mode saying that my security version failed. now it still says that i can't check for updates at this time

i'm not rooted or anything

Wow I checked this morning and it wasn't there then I read this just now and checked and it's there wow hallelujah

I'm still shocked 4.4.4 is going out to AT&T handsets before unlocked ones. I know unlocked devices have 4.4.3 so it isn't a big difference, but the lack effort on the part of device manufacturers to push security fixes (even for Motorola) does not reflect well on the security of the platform. There was no way I was going to use my Moto X at DEF CON knowing it was still vulnerable.

Unlocked Moto Xs didn't get the original 4.4 update first.

I thought I got the 4.4.3 update on my unlocked Moto X before it went out to ATT. I know I got it before my friend on Verizon. I just want to get 4.4.4 before Android L is released.

AT&T never got 4.4.3, they went from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4. I just returned my at&t moto x and got the unlocked Dev edition. It seems crazy to me that the unlocked version is going to get 4.4.4 after Verizon and AT&T.

I was part of the soak test and the only thing I really noticed is that it takes a lot longer to clear cache in recovery. It wouldn't even let me do it until I did a factory reset.

I don't understand this update, I have a Moto G LTE and wife has a Moto X, both of us running 4.4.3 and we both have the new dialer and can pause video.

Because AT&T is updating from 4.4.2 that lack those things that you mentioned.

Still no landscape dialer. Am I the only one who drives around with my phone mounted sideways?

Works for me. You are saying "OK Google Now", right?
