While many eyes are on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 these days, Sony's slipping out the Sony Xperia TL for $99.99 on a two-year contract with AT&T starting November 2. Yep, this is the "James Bond phone." If you missed our hands-on at AT&T's big unveiling event earlier this month, here's what you can expect.

  • 4.6-inch "HD Reality Display" at 720 x 1280 resolution with the Mobile Bravia engine
  • 13-megapixel rear camera
  • PlayStation certified
  • NFC
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
  • Launching with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, with an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to come.

Though it's not showing up in AT&T's online store just yet, you'll eventually be able to find information on snagging one at www.att.com/xperiatl. What do you guys think, does that camera impress you? Anyone looking forward to the new Bond flick?

Nice price tag for the phone. Still partially tempted to pick one up and try it out, especially at that price.

Finally. Can't wait to read the reviews. The ION seemed out-dated even when new.Hopefully TL's S4 processor will be able to make this phone a real flagship device for Sony. They already have the screen and camera features down pat.

I hope this does well. Very nice to see the price not be 199.

720x1080 display, thats a very odd resolution o_O sure its not 720x1280?

You're right, it's 720x1280. BTW, $99 is a great price. The ION with year-old hardware started out at that same price-point.The TL could be a steal.

Don't count on that 4.1 upgrade arriving soon. And don't count on it not breaking some features and the battery performance. Updates...
