ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity

So you've read our complete ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity review and can't wait to get your hands on one, eh? Can't say we blame you. It's quite the tablet-keyboard combo. So when can you get one?

ASUS tells us we should expect the Infinity to go on sale no earlier than the week of July 16. There's no hard and fast date, though, and like with the Transformer Prime, availability may very depending on when stock arrives.

A quick reminder on pricing:

  • The 32-gigabyte version retails for $499.
  • The 64-gigabyte version costs $599.
  • The keyboard dock is $149.

Those prices are subject to change, ASUS says, and it wouldn't surprise us in the least if they're sold for less at some online retailers. I'll come in two colors -- amethyst gray and champagne gold.

Another thing to remember is that if you've got the Transformer Prime keyboard dock, it'll work with the Infinity, so long as the firmware is up to date. So that can save you some cash.

I love my HTC Jetstream. So for now I'll hold off upgrading. Going to wait to see how Microsoft Surface fairs out.

oh..... Jetstream buyers exist? . . . Well I'll be damned...

I have been waiting for this since it will likely get updates faster than the Galaxy Note 10 and not to mention the HD screen.

$499 is an acceptable (but wish it was lower) price point to start out at, especially if it has a microSD slot or SD card slot

I think all of Asus's android tablets have gotten Hulu support which is a big plus for me as well.

But after seeing that leak for the Nexus 7, i may have to wait to see how that fairs.

I already decided I'm getting a Windows Surface tablet since it will likely get an Xbox version (Xbox Surface) soooo, thats irrelevant in my next tablet purchase to replace my aging Galaxy Tab 10

I'll be getting the Nexus 7 . . . a 7inch powerhouse will have me sold.

So glad that the keyboard dock is interchangeable. I don't see myself upgrading to the Infinity from the Prime any time soon, but I like that what that says about how they're approaching their product line.

You said "if you've got the Transformer Prime keyboard dock, it'll work with the Infinity, so long as the firmware is up to date."

I ordered a Prime and keyboard about 6 months ago, but I cancelled my Prime order (and let the keyboard ship) when the Infinity was announced. So I have a brand new keyboard waiting for use with the Infinity...

How do I tell what version firmware is on my keyboard?
What version do I need to be compatible with the Infinity?
And How do I update the firmware on my keyboard if necessary?

I wasn't aware that the keyboard had a real firmware...I thought the tablet ran the whole thing. I don't know, I could be wrong, but I'm sure as soon as you get the Infinity in there and it doesn't work that you'll be doing some good Google detective work. At least now you'll understand why the dock doesn't work lol

So, will the Prime get reduced pricing then?! I don't mind the other lower end model.
