Having not even finished rolling out the Android 2.0.1 OTA update for the Droid, BGR is hearing that there'll be another Droid-specific OTA update come late January 2010. Details are slim regarding what it fixes but it kind of, sort of fits the timeline for an Android 2.1 update, right? Staying hopeful is what we do.
If you can't wait on Verizon to roll out the 2.0.1 update for you, we've already detailed how you can load it yourself. Since the 2.0.1 update has only hit an estimated 10,000 people, we think it's safe to say that you'll need those instructions.

yeah you showed him adiliyo!
Despite the fact that I bought my Droid the day after launch, I'm not generally one to update for the sake of updating or be an early adopter. I'm even less inclined to apply an OS update from an unknown source, when I can likely get the official update within a few days. None of the changes revealed by those who've updated seem earth shattering, and in fact, some have reported problems (little or no earpiece volume, for one). Even when I get the official update notice on my Droid, I'll likely decline to install it right away.
thanks uncle mike, next tell us about your after dinner plans.
