Android 2.4

News, theories, and phones supposedly running Android 2.4 have been kicking around for a while now, and we're seeing it mentioned again today from HTC.  Word is that 2.4 is still Gingerbread, and we assume that it's the version with backwards support of some Honeycomb features for phones.  We're live at HTC press event now, and hopefully we'll hear some more details.  We'll keep you updated.

Android 2.4 shows up at MWC

OR just having HTC's new video chat app is perfectly good with me. Looks like the EVO has been updated, since they showed it using OnLive app. Which means our EVO's are quite ready to die yet.

2.4 sounds good, but at this point, I'd be happy with just getting 2.3 on my Nexus 1. I'm begining to think it'll never happen.

Same here, and it's leaving me feeling as though we've been thrown under a bus. First to get updates?!? I hope Nexus S users are taking notice of what happened to N1 owners.

Several weeks ago it was reported that 2.4 was just Gingerbread with some fixes so that it could better handle multi core apps when only a single core was available.

Otherwise they would have had to split the market.
